(Mika's POV)

I woke up at 5:00 am to an alarm I set in my room that I could hear from my pet's room, but he didn't look phased by it at all. I can't believe humans can't hear this stuff because it woke me right up. I just got ready by taking a shower and drying off with the door closed and the hair dryers on low to try and not make so much noise and wake up my pet because I saw how tired he looked still even as he slept. I just opened his cage by sticking a claw in the lock to push down on a lever to unlock it. I saw that he still had plenty of water, but I went into one of the food bags to pellets that are BBQ flavored that humans tasted before during proportions and loved while it was also good for them. I know he'll prefer real food, but this is more for when I'm not here and he wakes up. When I closed and locked his cage I checked the time to see it was 5:49 am now. I just turned off the light before I left to not sting his eyes as much if he woke up while I'm gone. When I got outside I went to Christa's door and rang her doorbell then waited a bit before she opened the door.

Christa-Good morning. Ready to go?

Mika-I just don't wanna be out too long. My goal is to be back before (Y/N) wakes up.

Christa-This should only take around an hour and a half. You can even get some stuff. I mostly just need a changing pad and a machine to help me do it as well as a bouncer and that little bed for his baths in the sink.

Mika-Oh, it's a boy.

Christa-And he's due today and will be here in 2 or 3 days. I'll just have you shop with me for a bit, but I won't hog you. When (Y/N) wakes up he's going to need your undivided attention. I think the bonding process is gonna be a little rough.

Mika-Y-Yeah... What's the baby's name that the mother gave them or are you changing it?

Christa-Ugh, she only came up with a name a week ago and when she did it was after a stripper character from a movie she loved... Not happening.

Mika-What names have you thought of?

Christa-Still got a few choices, but I'll decide when I see the baby.

We both just walked off to go to a store and I think I should get some stuff for (Y/N) to help him settle in his new room. When we got to the store it was just opening and slaves were already at work then I caught Christa eyeballing a wolf with very thick and shiny gray fur until I snickered a little. She only huffed and we went about our shopping and we went to the baby section and got the things she needed for her baby. She also got a baby gate she would be able to open with a latch, and a bottle warmer.

Christa-Did you want anything for your pet while we're here?

Mika-Um... maybe some things to make his room a bit more comfortable.

Christa-Well I got what I needed. What about you?

Mika-I was thinking about getting some things for him. Like how he wanted the light on last night, so maybe a nightlight for him and maybe a noise machine.

Christa-What about more toys?

Mika-When I get to know him more and find out what he likes. Also, I don't think he'll be in a playing mood that much, so the toys I got him at the store should be fine for now.

Christa-Well then let's get your stuff, go home, and I'll be heading to the hosp-.

???-AAAHHH!!!

We both heard screaming then something got knocked over and when we looked to where it came from we saw a kangaroo protecting her baby while a human slave was on the ground pinned under the wolf and growling at him. Two other F.O.N. members came over and took the human into the backroom while checking to see if the kangaroo and her baby were ok while the husband came rushing over.

Christa-Did you see that wolf? That is an alpha right there. ~

We just went back to my shopping and I just got a nightlight, noise maker, and some shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for my pet before we left at 7:44, so (Y/N) is most likely still asleep or at the very least has sunlight in his room.

((Y/N)'s POV)

I slowly woke up and stretched until I opened my eyes that saw my hands still in these mittens, my ankles still strapped together, and felt the collar still on my neck... So all of that wasn't a dream. I got taken from my home, put in a cage, and whatever Mika is took me to her home. Sunlight was coming through the curtains a little, so I looked around and saw a sippy cup with water in it. I'm so thirsty and I was able to pick up the bottle with both hands before I started to drink then saw something in a bowl that looked like... pet food... I began to cry again thinking about my home and mommy and daddy being taken away from me. Soon I heard a door open then closed before I saw Mika walk in and she saw me crying and came up to the cage with bags tied over her that she took off.

Mika-Sweetie, what's wrong?... I know this is scary for you. ~

I didn't want to listen to her then she went into one of the bags and had something wrapped in tin foil in her mouth then used her paw to open the cage and put it inside.

Mika-Christa and I stopped somewhere and got food. I'll take off the mittens, but you have to be good and get in a bath then after those mittens are going back on. I don't want you to get into trouble, ok?

I know animals like her are strong and faster, so running would be a bad idea. I just nodded my head and held out my hands before she came over to take off by unlocking the locks and undoing the straps with her mouth. It felt good to have my hands free again then she left me with my cage still open, but I only got the food and unwrapped it to see it was a breakfast burrito and I started to eat while staying in the cage until I finished. I looked at Mika just digging in the boxes and bags to put stuff in my room. When she was done she went into another back to get her food out and it was a breakfast bowl. She looked at me and smiled while she ate a bit of her food then got up.

Mika-Done already? You must've been hungry... Come on, you need a bath? ~

I wondered how she could give me a bath, but after slipping behind me she gently pushed me out of the cage and all the way to the bathroom where I saw something off the side of the bath. She closed the door behind me before she turned on the water with help from that machine thing and looked at me.

Mika-Alright, come here. Let's get those dirty clothes off you.

I didn't want to be naked in front of her, so I took a step back.

(Y/N)'s mind-She's still an animal, so she can't make me get in the bath!

(Timeskip 6 Minutes)

(Mika's POV)

That little fight is about what I suspected, but nothing as bad as the video a month ago where a full-grown adult fought a bath given to them by a bunny to show how to do it. If a bunny could get an adult in the bath, given they needed restraints and a bit of back up then I can get a child in the bath myself. The video shows you how to get the clothes off a human without hurting them and practiced on dummies, but I only did it at the time because others were. This was sad because humans are supposed to love baths and find them relaxing, but the poor thing looked scared while sitting in the water and gave me sad eyes. I just have to get this done quickly.

Mika-There, there honey. I'll be quick. ~

I slid the machine over a little then started to operate it and started by soaking him in water then got his shampoo. I was really careful to not get soap in his eyes even if he closed them when I started scrubbing him. After I washed the shampoo out I got the conditioner, but the real struggle was his body. He flinched at times when I had to use one of the arms to move his arms and legs around to get his whole body scrubbed which made him cry.

Mika's mind-Poor baby... I wonder how Christa's doing?

(Christa's POV)

I was given a ride to the hospital and went up to the front desk then gave the cat running it my name. He looked it up and we had to narrow it down, so I gave him my former owner's name and said she was due to have a baby today.

Cat-Ma'am, I have some news regarding the baby. Last night Megan threw a fit after a deer walked in for a check-up with their human nurse beside them to learn which led to her giving birth a little early. We just didn't have a way to reach you.

Christa-So my baby is born?! Can I see him?!

He led me to where the babies were, but I had to stay at the window then he pointed out which baby was mine and my heart melted. They were squirming around a little under their blanket and looked so precious that I just wanted to take them home now.

Cat-If I may ask. What about Megan? You requested to not make the name she gave the baby official and she's not qualified for a pet adoption... at all.

Christa-She's getting put down for livestock. If I give my address can I have her brought to me when her meat is cleaned from drugs and processed?

Cat-Um... I am still kind of new to this job, but I'll get someone else that knows to help you. Would you like to see Megan?

Christa-No. Also, does she knows what's going to happen? I don't want her stressed and feeding that stuff to my baby.

Cat-Protocol says no and not even the humans around here that still work for now know.

Christa-Good... Can I have a moment here alone before I leave?

Cat-Take your time.

He left me alone and I just looked at my baby and I thought of the name to give him.

Christa's mind-Angel. ~

(Mika's POV)

(Y/N) tried to get back into his dirty clothes, but there was no way he was going back in dirty clothes after a bath, so I just put them in the washer still not believing I forgot to check his size for clothes. Right now he was bundled up and hiding in his cage in a blanket. I didn't want him to feel ashamed of his body since I don't wear clothes given I have fur for warmth, so I just turned on the heater and then the T.V. in the living room before I went to his room. He did look adorable in a sad way with only his face being visible and he was looking at me with shame from his bath.

Mika-Oh sweetie, I got the T.V. on out front... You wanna come out with your blanket and watch a show?

(Y/N)-...

He moved a tiny bit and I guess he pressed on his toy he had back at the store because I could faintly hear a melody.

Mika-Would you at least say something? You haven't spoken since we met and it's starting to worry me.

He only sat there and it did make me worry since there were even stories about even children killing themselves from all sorts of problems that they can't cope with forever. If he bottles this up for much longer, I'm scared he'll start hurting himself. I decided to leave him alone and go to my room to be alone and think about what else I could do, but I have just been guessing so far. I don't know what I'm doing...

Mika-*Sigh* Someone in town has to know.

I just went to the washer when it beeped and put his clothes in the dryer to have his clothes ready for him for when I get back.

((Y/N)'s POV)

I'm still in my blanket, holding my toy and Mika did put these mittens back on and I only let her because I thought she might get mad. Soon, she came into the room and closed my cage to lock it.

Mika-I'm gonna be going out for a bit. If you get hungry those pellets are BBQ flavored, you still have water, and I won't be gone long. Ok? ~

She turned on a speaker and it played sounds that I think sounded like a heartbeat before she closed my door to leave. I looked to see my curtains were still closed, so I was all alone and I got a little more comfortable. I soon felt like eating something then I remember what she told me about that pet food...

(Y/N)'s mind-BBQ flavored?

I did like that flavor and if I don't like it, I'll just spit it out. These mittens won't let me grab one, so I got out of the blanket to carefully get one with my mouth and from what I could smell, they did smell like BBQ chips, and when I got one in my mouth to taste it...

(Y/N)'s mind-This is actually good.

(Mika's POV)

I thought about finding one of those class things, but I don't want to be away for long after I left (Y/N) at home alone. There has to be something I can do quickly and get back home to him. I came up to the store where I adopted him and I saw a wolf couple pass by me with a full-grown adult female that had a black eye, and her human baby in a cage. I got into the store and wondered if an F.O.N. member could help me, so I walked up to a cougar.

Mika-Excuse me, sir.

He turned to me and gave me a smile, but it looked like he was watching an adult female slave while she looked like she had a bad attitude with working.

Cougar-How may I help you?

Mika-I just adopted a very young child the other day and I know this is all new to him, but he won't talk, he's super reserved, and constantly stressed. I'm worried he might be having thoughts of... hurting himself.

Cougar-Oh, well... We don't have trainers here and those classes are downtown for now until we get more situated. However, we do have this.

He gave the woman a warning glare before he walked me over to a big table with tablets on it, but the sign said, "Human Companionship 101". He grabbed a box off the table with his mouth, dropped it in a bag then put it in front of me.

Cougar-This is only for a guide to help a human adapt and what to look out for in human behavior, as well as other things such as cooking, bathing, and playing for all humans and animals shapes and sizes. Even has videos and a phone number for content help in case the book doesn't help.

Mika-This is... perfect. Thank you.

Cougar-No problem.

I took the tablet and started to head home while dodging foot and paw traffic on the sidewalks as I sped walk. I made it home and got inside to go check on (Y/N) real fast and open his cage to let him out if he wants to, but to no surprise, he stayed where he was until I brought him his clothes in a basket. I need to go clothes shopping today for him or something. Anyway, I went to my room and hopped on my bed then took out the tablet from the box and the battery was at 87%, so I was fine. There were chapters and a search bar for a question, so I carefully typed in my questions with one digit on my paw then it showed me answers then a video that I played. It showed a chinchilla with a whole human family of three for the thumbnail until it started and it showed the chinchilla in a clean, but empty room.

???-Hello, my name is Christoph and I understand that you may be a new pet owner and are having a hard time on both sides. I too had this probably of fearing for my pet's life. I took the whole family that cared for me and right now I'm here with Lilly.

Lilly was laying on the floor with her head on a pillow while Christoph stroked her head a little. She leaned into his touch a little and I never saw a human so tamed before.

Christoph-Now Lilly and her child Austin took this the hardest when they found out my secret during the preparations and were horrified when F.O.N. had to take them in, in secret. Now, this is where you have to apply the correct comfort even if they don't show that they like it at first.

Letters popped up on the screen and it spelled TWT and that was for...

Christoph-Trust, words, and touch. Each are very complex depending on the state your human is in, but let's focus on how to work on trust since they are both key factors in the other two basics for comfort. The first factor is the most important... Preparations, like making sure if you have claws or such that can even accidentally scratch them, get those trimmed.

(Timeskip 30 Minutes)

((Y/N)'s POV)

I'm just sitting on top of the blanket with my clothes on again and I just listened to the heartbeat noises while playing with a ball. When Mika came in I stopped playing and she walked into my cage and slowly got closer, so I curled up.

She didn't slow down then she pushed me from behind my back to curl up behind me, so I tried to get up, but she wrapped a paw around my tummy and pulled me back into her.

Mika-*Shhhh* Noooo. Just lay down. I got you. ~ *whisper*

I tried to get up a few more times, but she kept me pinned against her with her strong legs and I couldn't get a good foothold to get up with the blanket making my feet slide. She kept on whispering and rubbed her face against my cheek until I stopped and she didn't hold down so tight anymore. She pulled me down to lay down while she shifted us until I could still lie down all the way and my face was in her fluffy chest. She used her paw to rub my head and my body started to shake.

Mika-You're ok. It's just us here. ~

She used her back leg to pull mine into her then I felt her tail rubbing up and down my back. I couldn't stop my body from shaking, but this did feel good, but I couldn't like this. I still wanted to go home with my mommy and daddy. They are looking for me right now, I just know it.

Mika-Poor baby... You look so scared still. How about after some cuddling we can watch a show for you in the living room while snuggling like this on the couch? Would you like that? ~

I didn't answer then she pulled my head deeper into her fur. After a while like this, I just felt so warm and comfortable. I could still hear the machine making heartbeat sounds, but while I turned my head, I started to hear hers.

(Mika's POV)

I did everything Christoph did to Lilly in the video from approaching with a steady pace. Not speeding up or slowing down since that would cause even more unwanted suspension, softly, but firmly asserting myself and keeping him still, let him tire himself out while not letting him hit me, and lastly wait for him to sleep. Thankfully he wasn't fighting all that much and it felt nice to have him pressed against me like this. It took a while, but I started to feel a change in his breathing. All I need to do now is stay here until he wakes up and to pass the time I just played with his hair, pet him some more, and even gave him a few licks and kisses to put my scent on him a little better, so if other animals with a great sense of smell find him lost, they will either bring him home or back to me.

Mika's mind-You are just such a sweetheart even after everything that's happened to you. ~

I started to wonder what happened to his parents rather if they were enslaved, put down for livestock, or maybe still out on the run since F.O.N. wanted to keep families together as much as possible given they are the ones labeled as pets. I'll just ask someone in F.O.N. at a hospital later to find out who the parents are and see what happened.

(Timeskip 2 Hours)

((Y/N)'s POV)

I started to wake up and I just felt so warm then nuzzled into something fuzzy and the back of my head was being held, but I didn't notice until something soft rubbed me. I opened my eyes to only see fur and it was Mika still holding me and smiling.

Mika-Rise and shine cutie pie. Did you have a good nap? ~

I felt my face get warming and she giggled a little before she finally let me go and got up. I sat up when she left my cage and then looked back at me.

Mika-I'm gonna start cooking something. Do you like steak?

(Y/N)-Y-Yes, please.

I realized what I just did and she looked surprised before she smiled then her tail started to move a bit.

Mika-You finally spoke to me. Good boy. I think I'll make something special for dessert tonight after I go clothes shopping for you. ~

She walked to my door, but just stopped in the middle of the doorway before she looked back to me a little.

Mika-Also... You have a cute voice to match you. ~

I just covered myself up in the blanket a little to hide my face then I touched a warm spot where Mika was and it felt nice... I moved on it and then covered myself up, but this doesn't mean I want to stay.

(Christa's POV)

I just walked out of my pet's nursery and to my room where I got a small rocking crib for my baby to sleep in here with me sometimes. I walked into the bathroom to brush my fur and looked in the mirror.

I soon got interrupted when my doorbell rang and when I went to go answer it I saw Mika at the door and she looked happy.

Christa-Someone's happy. What happened?

Mika-I got this guide to help me with (Y/N) and he finally spoke to me after taking a nap while I held him.

Christa-Awwwww. Give me details! ~

Mika-Oh, I actually came over to ask for a favor. I just got (Y/N)'s size for clothes, so tonight can you watch him when I go out for him? He's still sitting in his cage a lot, but I just want to make sure he behaves.

Christa-No problem at all... Now details.

She started to tell me every little bit of what happened starting from her worrying about him having very disturbing thoughts to him blushing and hiding under the blanket before she cooked lunch for them. It made me think about when I get my pet away from Megan.

Christa-*Squeal*! ~
