(Mother's POV)

Daughter did a very good job last night and I guess of our family members killed a human family with a baby a while back because she found baby supplies and at best, we used the bottle as a cleaner way to feed him while he still tried to fight us about it. He was doing right now, and it felt so good to bottle feed him, even if it was just water and Daughter even wanted a turn. The sun should be going down soon and i'll go see if I can find humans for us to eat tonight and more food for my baby boy. When he was getting tired from fighting and when his bottle of water was empty, Daughter started to cook the last rabbit we had to feed him then came over to us with a bowl full of berries and held a spoon full up to him.

Daughter-Open up little brother. ~

She pressed the spoon against his lips, and he cracked his mouth open to eat. I cooed him while he chewed and he closed his cute little eyes to not look at us, but that just made it more fun to tease him by playing with his nose. I never knew I could have so much fun and enjoyment from being so gentle and the thought of even Rui harming my new 'true' son made my blood boil enough to try and kill him, even if I know I can't beat him. When the sun was down and the moon came up, I gave (Y/N) to Daughter and tightened his blanket and ropes around him, so all he can do while i'm gone is lay in his sister's lap.

Mother-Watch your brother and I will let you know if it is safe to leave tonight.

Daughter-Yes Mother. I'll put him down for nap just in case, so he's quiet when we leave.

(Daughter's POV)

Mother smiled before she left us alone and (Y/N) is too scared to scream since our demon family would hear him for sure. He was even scared to talk when it got close to being dark outside and soon his rabbit was done, and his mouth was watering. I put his head on the softest thing in this cave before I started to peel the meat off the rabbit and put it into a bowl then put his head back on my lap and held the first bite up to him.

Daughter-Open up for big sister. I made it special for you. ~

I heard his belly growl a little since the berries from before were not very filling, so he was begging for this. After he finished his rabbit, I gently stroked his head and since he was struggling and being fussy a lot again today, he should be tired enough to sleep, but just as his eyes were getting droopy Mother came back in and she had a serious look on her face.

Mother-Pack what we can up. We're leaving.

Daughter-Already? What's happening?

Mother-Demon slayers.

(???'s POV)

I insisted on going on this mission since I suspect that the low quality of these core members will result in lots of casualties and Giyu was coming along too at the request of the master. As Usual, the Giyu was so focused on the mission that he doesn't really acknowledge much else. We were almost to the mountain while more members were up ahead to scout out what kind of threats are up ahead and this is a chance, they could handle themselves, but when the crow came back with a message, it gave us our answer.

Crow-Caw! Danger up ahead! There was an ambush of spider demons! Caw! 4 dead and 10 left in a fight and are struggling! Caw! Hurry! Caw!

Giyu-Let's go.

We both sprinted to try and get there as fast as we could and got onto the mountain then split up to cover more ground. I soon saw tiny spiders and though nothing at first, but then saw a suspicious design... They must've been made by a demon that's nearby. No humans were here from what the crow told us this morning, but that can change in an instant, so I had to hurry and find the demon while taking care of these spiders which was easy for me due to my Butterfly Dance technique. When I saw the crow fly above me, he started leading me somewhere which I suspect is straight for a demon.

(Mother's POV)

The demon slayers were a perfect distraction and since we had a good amount of distance, we should be off the mountain before Rui can be the wiser. I just gave my baby a few kisses while he was gagged and blindfolded, so he can't call for help or see where we're going. Daughter was carrying his food and even had the bottle full of water ready for him. Just as we got off the mountain to leave this so-called family to have a better life for ourselves, we looked at our bundle of happiness and cooed him. The demon slayers will no doubt find us if we travel far right now, so we had to find a place to camp tonight and luckily there's an abandoned house nearby we could stay in and hide for the time being. When we made and got our baby settled in for now, we took his blindfold off and untied him to play with him, but in reality, he was trying to run... Not like he had any chance, but it was cute and sometimes funny to tease him with his freedom, only to have it just outside his grasp.

(Y/N)-L-Let me go! Leave me alone!

Daughter-Then you better you away faster. Or we're just going to get you. ~

He threw a little tantrum when he got very frustrated, so I just pulled him into a hug and had him tied up in my webs again. I told Daughter to search the house with me for supplies, since he'll need more clothes soon, but when it was clear that there was not even a cloth here, we decided to sneak off to the village a bit of ways away and have a snack of our own then take what we want for my son.

Mother's mind-The demon slayers are busy on the mountain. My baby should be safe here for a while.

Just to make sure, Daughter put her stronger webs around him and held back her acid. After that, we headed out and should be back before morning.

(Timeskip 30 Minutes)

((Y/N)'s POV)

I gave up on trying to escape now. Even when they let me out of the webs and blanket, I still couldn't get away and it was just a game to them. Just then I heard a door open then heard footsteps, but only one pair of footsteps, so I wondered which one of them it was.

???-Oh my, you poor thing!

I didn't recognize that voice and suddenly the webs were cut off me in the blink of an eye, so I could see and move again. The first thing I saw was the person that rescued me, and I could tell by her eyes that she was human like me, but also angry on the inside.

???-You poor thing, you must be so scared and confused... Did a demon do this to you?... Come on, let's get you someplace safe.

She gently took my hand and she seemed so nice, and she was pretty too. When we got outside, she put me on her back before she suddenly ran very fast to where a horse would be jealous.

???-Where are my manners? My name is Shinobu. May I have your name?

How is she not out of breath after running this fast?! I took a better look at her then noticed she was carrying a sword then that about what Mother said before.

(Y/N)-Um... I'm (Y/N)... Are you... a demon slayer?

Shinobu-Oh, you know about demon slayers? Care to tell me how?

I told her the whole story from when Tanjiro was at my house and saved me from demons and his sister was a demon but was nice. Then I told her about Tamayo then about how Mother and Daughter treated me and told me that demon slayers were here. She just gave me a look at that last part.

Shinobu-*Giggles* Those demons did what now? Demons do not care for humans from what i've heard and seen.

(Y/N)-They did. All of them did... Or at least the girl demons.

Shinobu-Are you sure you're not lying to me? I'm sure your mother is the kind of woman to not tolerate tell tales.

(Y/N)-It's true!

(Shinobu's POV)

What he just described to me was unheard of by all accounts of what demons are like. If this is true then it could lead to something bigger. I have to let a crow search for his home, and I was just going to drop him off at a shelter or an inn and pay for it, but I have to see if this was true. It would explain how he didn't have so much as a scratch on him and even looked groomed to an extent considering since we got here first thing at night, he had to be captured at least yesterday.

Shinobu-Hmmm... Sorry about this (Y/N).

(Y/N)-Huh?

Before he could fully react, I launched him off my back then spin around to karate chop his neck to knock him out and catch him mid-air. The last thing i saw was his eyes slowly closing before he clashed into my chest on accident.

(Timeskip)

((Y/N)'s POV)

I woke up to having the sunlight in my eyes and I was able to block it with my eyes as I quickly woke up but felt kind of dizzy still. I looked around to see I was in some kind of a hospital room, and I had new hospital clothes on. I soon got out of the bed but just as I was about to reach the door, it opened and I saw Shinobu holding a bag of medical stuff in it.

Shinobu-Oh, what great timing. You're up. Just in time for the next part of the exam.

(Y/N)-You... You knocked me out!

Shinobu-Yes... I do apologize for that. I had to return to the mountain to help slay the demons and tried to capture the 2 demons you said captured to take care of you. I thought you would've been scared and tried to run off and end up getting hurt. Sadly, I could not find those demons, but it seemed a few knew who I was talking about.

She took my hand and led me back to the bed and took off my shirt before she put that thing that listens for heartbeats on my chest while I took deep breaths.

Shinobu-Until I find your home, you must stay here and rest... Take another deep breath and hold it for a bit, please.

I just did what she said since her eyes showed me that she just wants to help, and she was telling the truth.

(Shinobu's POV)

Little does he know, I may not have found the demons he was talking about, yet, but I do plan to put his story to the test by hopefully finding a female demon to see how she reacts. If what he says is true then this could be a huge step towards my big sister's dream of befriending demons or at the very least, help protect humans. I even told the others and the master about this, and he is allowing me to test it as long as I can guarantee his safety.
