(Blaze's POV)

I arrived at the kingdom and was greeted by the guards before one of them led me to Queen Alicia instead of the king. I guess he was in a bad mood from this war and I was sick of it all too. She and I were in a private room now to talk and I wanted to bring up possible recon missions to send our people on to gather intel to find out what Eggman has. She wanted to start with some drinks and snacks since she believes that it's better to plan while calm to be more rational about things. I don't see how we can, but she looks so calm.

Alicia-For what it's worth, I do apologize for what happened to your kingdom and wish you the best.

Just then I think I heard a sniffle or something somewhere in the room. Maybe I was just hearing things.

Blaze-Thank you. Now, for what we can do next... I wish to ask for help from Sonic.

Alicia-That won't be necessary. I just ask you these simple things and I will explain everything. Don't scream, do not show any ill will toward them, and don't tell anyone outside these castle walls besides Sonic and his friends.

Blaze-... Them?

Alicia-That promise?

Blaze-I promise.

Alcia-Both hands on the table, please.

This was suspicious, but I did what she said while having my guard up. That's when she turned to the couch in the room.

Alcia-Come on out, Sweetie. It's ok. ~

I raised an eyebrow and that's when I saw a child come out from around the couch. He looked nervous and I was speechless that there was a creature like him in here with us.

Alicia-Prnicess Blaze, this is (Y/N)... He is the grandson of Eggman.

Blaze-Excuse me?

Alicia-Allow me to explain.

(Sally's POV)

Sally-YOU ARE NOT DOING THAT!!!

My father wants to sit (Y/N) at a computer and recreate the map for us to use. I do like the idea to have an advantage like that over Eggman and I would gently guide him, but he wants him to work like a prisoner under strict watch. That is going to scare him! 

Father-This is for the good of our kingdom!

Sally-This was not part of the deal!

Father-Where are your priorities?!

Sally-With my morals! If we do what Eggman did to him then how are we any better?!

Father-I need that map! We need to win this war! For all we know Eggman can have a copy!

(Meanwhile)

(Cubot's POV)

Dr. Eggman was making us work around the clock to make another map like the ones we had before, but there were no blueprints, coding, or anything left to help us get started. We tried starting from scratch, but the system kept on crashing when we tried to make the AI that could understand how to build structures in a VR world.

Cubot-Sir, the screen is doing that thing again.

Eggman-THAT IS ANOTHER ERROR!!! YOU DID IT WRONG!!! AGAIN!!!

Orbot-The data is corrupted. We need to send the drone out again.

Eggman-AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! 

(Sally's POV)

I left the room and told my father that he is not to go near (Y/N) and do this plan of his. The map is gone and that's enough. I walked around to look for my mother and (Y/N) when they weren't in my room, so I felt nervous thinking my father did something behind my back already. That was before a guard led me too them and I walked into a lounge room where I saw Princess Blaze with Mother and (Y/N) and he was on her lap.

(Blaze's POV)

We all looked at Princess Sally and I already knew the whole story. He just didn't like us talking about it. I am also just relieved that Eggman doesn't have the map he had to cause so much damage and we got some intel on the inside that we will use to have Sonic and his friends go on the offense with.

Sally-Blaze?

Blaze-Hello Sally.

Sally-Mother, you told her?!

Alicia-She wanted help with her kingdom, so I told her all we know to help in an attack in a way that really helps us. 

Blaze-It's been a while since he's done anything, so he might be trying to rebuild the map.

I didn't want to talk about battle plans any further, so we changed the subject to something else. Alicia left to go tell the guards a battle plan and she has my permission to order my guards and prep them for when they get into contact with my kingdom. It was just me and Sally left with (Y/N) and he was still in my lap. He looked conflicted to be comfy, but I could feel him relax sometimes.

Blaze-How about we play a little game? Ever played a board game before? ~

(Y/N)-Um... does chess with a computer count?

(Timeskip 20 Minutes)

He looked so enthralled by rolling the dice and playing a real game he could touch that was not on a computer. It was cute, but I never thought I would see a human act like this. The only one I have seen is an overlander and he is a lunatic. (Y/N) showed guilt for something that wasn't entirely his fault and that says something about him. He sat next to Sally and I would reach over to give him some affection during the game before I got a message from Alicia saying that the plan was greenlit and the attack would happen soon. Thanks to our little informant, this attack is going to hurt and we will know where the blueprints for the robotizer will be as well as how to get into the room. Speaking of which, we heard his stomach growl.

Blaze-Giggles You hungry little guy? ~

(Y/N)-Umm... I'm Ok.

Sally-Don't be so modest. Come on, let's go to the dinning area and get the chefs to make you something.

She picked him up and I rubbed his cheek when we got out into the hallway we saw the king passing by and he was giving (Y/N) a look.

Blaze-King Maximillian?

Sally-Father.

Sally got a little mad at her dad, but he just passed us while glaring at (Y/N) which made him whimper. I wondered what all of that was about until...

Maximillian-Wait... Child. Do you feel obligated to help our kingdom?

Sally-Father.

She picked (Y/N) up and took off with him. I just looked at the king a little surprised he was going to use a child. I followed Sally and (Y/N) to the dining room and we ordered some food for the chefs to make. It looked like what the king said got to (Y/N), so I pulled him onto my lap for some comfort... I also liked him there. He was nice to cuddle.

Blaze-Hey, I'm going to be staying a few days. Wanna have a sleepover in her room? Just the 3 of us? ~

(Y/N)-... Should I... make the map, again?

We both saw a tear come out of his eye and it made me furious on the inside that someone would force a child to experience his trauma. Let alone so soon and by the king of all people!

(Sally's POV)

This. Will. Not. STAND!!! During the whole meal, I was furious at my father and secretly texted Mother about this before stating I didn't want Father even near me! If even so much as one of his guards lays a finger on (Y/N), I will have their job! While we were eating still...

(Y/N)-Sniffle.

Sally-Gasp Heeey, don't cry. ~

Blaze bounced him on her lap and gave him a little fire show, but it didn't help and he sobbed when he no doubt thought about what my father said. He was worked up and fussy now trying to fight us off in a little tantrum, but Blaze held onto him.

Blaze-Alright, let's get you down for a nap.

We took him with us back to my room, but I went to the bathroom in a hall by myself real fast while Blaze went on ahead. When I near the door to my room I saw a door reaching for my doorknob.

Sally-Excuse me. What are you doing?

Guard-Princess. I have orders from your Father. He wants to see the human now.

Sally-Tell my father that I said he would not be coming near the human or me. If he has a problem, he can talk to me through other people.

Guard-I'm sorry, but I have orders.

He was reaching for my door again but I grabbed his wrist and he looked at me.

Sally-Leave him alone... I mean it.

Guard-Your Father's orders are above yours. Let me-.

I twisted his wrist and swept his leg by surprise before smoothly sliding his sword out as he fell then I held his blade up to his neck.

Sally-You're going to find out how I led attacks and wasn't a damsel in distress on the field while also having more and better connections to most people in other kingdoms that my father doesn't have anymore. One of them is also behind that door.

I felt so mad I actually cut him a little while keeping his hand pinned down under my foot.

Guard-Y-You can't do this!

Sally-Force me and I will... Leave.

I kept his sword and he could leave without it. When I entered my room I heard (Y/N) crying under my bed and Blaze's feet were sticking out. She was still trying to comfort him and I hid the sword before I went over to join them.

(Timeskip To Night)

(???'s POV)

I heard a lot of places are being set up for camps in this time of war and mines and other ruins are being picked clean for weapons, resources, and material. I could go around and see which ones weren't hit, yet... But why would I do that when I know where the jackpots are? I even know where the biggest score would be. Acorn Castle. They are the biggest and richest kingdom out there that is busy with Eggman and his little toys so I say what better time to take something when they don't have that much manpower to spare to come searching for a thief?

???-Chuckles. ~

I flew to a good spot to scope out the castle and knew the treasure room had to be heavily guarded, but bedrooms alone would have priceless jewels and art pieces worth a fortune. Maybe even something they would love to trade back for. I saw a faint reflection of myself in the window when I put my hand on the glass to look closely at my prize and what I could find.

Rouge-My collection is going to look so much better tonight. ~

(No POV)

Rouge decided to wait a little longer as the guards did the last rounds for the curfew in place. Meanwhile, in the castle, Sally and Blaze were still sleeping with (Y/N) in the middle of them. They made sure he stayed asleep by soothing him back again and again until they were sure he had more than enough rest for tomorrow so he would be in a better mood. Also, in the Castle... there were 2 guards talking with the king in the treasure room behind a locked door.

Maximillian-When you are sure my daughter is asleep, take the child. They or my wife is not to know about it. I want him to work on another map. Do I make myself clear?

Guard#1/Guard#2-Yes, Your Highness.

He dismissed them and left the room with a big empty bag they usually use to collect taxes, but tonight, it will be used for something else as he planned.

Maximillian's mind-Accuse me if you wish, but by the time you have him back, I will have what I want. Then the whole Kingdom can know about him and want him out... Filthy humans and overlanders.

Elsewhere in the castle... Blaze rolled over to the side of the bed and too (Y/N0 and most of the blanket with her from Sally in her sleep. A smile curved on her face.

Blaze-Mmmmhhhh... Kitten. mumbles ~
