Found mostly in deep subterranean caverns, brinelings are fish-ogre hybrids known for their horrific appearance, especially the thick mucus that drips from their tooth maws. Their naturally sour temperament makes them a vicious foe of any creature that dares enter their lairs.

Aboleth Thralls. Like many of the dull-witted species who live below the surface, brinelings frequently find themselves at the mercy of aboleths. Entire colonies of brinelings fall under the ancient horrors' sway, acting as muscle for their cruel masters.

Treasure Hoarders. Although brinelings have little interest in treasure themselves, their befouled lairs are usually filled with gleaming baubles and trinkets, the remains of devoured explorers and adventurers.
