Update (2023-06-22): 1.4.0a has been released to add support for 60 FPS to the NTSC Wii version of the game by default!

Good day everyone! 🌼🥕🌼🥕🌼🥕

After more than a year of waiting, here's finally yet another major update to the Pikmin 2 4K texture pack! It brings a lot of awesome additions across the board, and over 70 new 4K textures!

  • New UI textures, including character portraits, the treasure-gauge, on-screen text, logos and more!
  • New enemy textures, including the purple spotted bulborb and creature eggs!
  • New environment textures, covering several areas including caves!
  • New menu screen textures!
  • New treasure textures with new material maps as well, such as bottle caps, the egg, batteries etc.
  • Minor changes and improvements to miscellaneous textures!

And as before, there are two versions of the texture pack included you get to select from once you've downloaded it. One is the "Post Processing Edition", which includes all the post processing effects showcased in the trailer like ambient occlusion, tone mapping, bloom and more. The other version is the "Standard Edition" which doesn't include these features but has some other benefits instead, such as increased hardware compatibility.

The Post Processing Edition utilizes Ishiiruka Dolphin to achieve these features, has some graphical features implemented not available in regular Dolphin. It also requires Windows 7 or higher (not MacOS or Linux) and a dedicated graphics card. Both editions include a controller preset for common gamepads like the Xbox One controller! The standard edition version alleviates some minor Dolphin bugs present in Ishiiruka Dolphin (increased stability, for example) and supports MacOS & Linux, too! But does not support any of the graphical features listed above, like material maps or ambient occlusion. Both versions look stunning so if you're uncertain I recommend you play the standard version- or try out both and see which one you prefer!

Enjoy!

There is also a 4K version available, if your computer can handle it! Please feel free to try it out!

Notice: The 4K version will look better than the 1080p version, even if you don't have a 4K display.

(Only available for the Dolphin Emulator on PC or mobile (Android/iOS), the texture pack does not work on real GameCube or Wii consoles).

Read more information about the texture pack on my website!

Old version! Download the latest version instead.

I am only able to make things like this thanks to your support, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me do what I love!

does this do 1080p?

Kooper 064

Every time I try to download it, it says it's forbidden.. ive tried on a few phones too but with no luck...

Hi Kooper! Have you tried logging into a google account before downloading? That apparently increases the chances of successful download for others who have experienced similar issues.

Kooper 064

Yeah I tried that, and a ton of stuff. Ended up having to copy it to my drive then use the app to transfer it to my desktop. But thanks for getting to me! And thanks for the textures.

(reposting this under my new account, sorry for the double-post) The 4K Texture pack is in DDS format and doesn't work on Linux or MacOS builds of Dolphin. I saw that you provided a .png texture pack for android/ios users, but I only see that in 1080p. Is there any chance you could convert the .dds texture to a more universal format like .png in a future release?

henrikomagnifico

Hi sdavid! I am able to run the DDS version of all my texture packs just fine on my MacOS and Linux machines. Did you follow the instructions for copying files over from the texture pack folder into your Dolphin Emulator directory, as well the following steps for enabling Custom Textures inside of Dolphin?

Hi there, thank you for the hard work! When I try to extract the files, it doesn't work - a bunch say the "Path is too long". Is there any kind of workaround for this. Just skipping these files leads to a "fatal error" when I try to boot up the texture pack and my game. :( Would really appreciate your help!
