1.4.0b patch notice:

Patch 1.4.0b was released on March 26th to fix several issues including an issue where ReShade configurations wouldn't save or load correctly due to hidden files preventing the program from finding the necessary files, streamlined and improved installation script for Project Restoration, updated bundled versions of BetterJoy and DS4Windows as well as other minor fixes and changes.

Hi everyone! 👋

Today marks the release of 1.4.0 for the Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D 4K texture pack! This update is yet another large sized update and includes over 70 new 4K textures covering several areas, with a particular focus on Ikana Canyon and the surrounding areas, miscellanous changes like 4K cliffs and fences, Termina Field upgrades, even more songs from the Re-Orchestrated Soundtrack project and more!

70+ New Textures!

This update includes over 70 new 4K textures, many of which are completely remade from scratch. This includes both environment textures like cliffs and grass in and around the Great Bay and Snowhead, new foliage textures, new textures for pressure switches and most notably all new textures for large parts of Ikana Canyon and Stone Tower. Like last update and the one before it, it helps it all comes together really nicely and makes the whole pack feel a lot more polished and complete!

More songs from the Re-Orchestrated Project!

Following the trend set by the last two updates, 9 more new re-orchestrated songs are now included! More songs are coming soon in future updates, so stay tuned! And of course, if you just want to listen to the Re-Orchestrated soundtrack you can always find it on the most popular streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music etc.

And many bugs fixes and minor changes...

From random crashes that occured for some users to texture being replaced with other, seemingly random textures, has now been completely fixed! This should lead to a more polished and overall enjoyable experience for everyone using the texture pack.

That's mostly it for this update. Enjoy!

The update is available to all you Patrons here, with a public release in two weeks from when this post was published!

There is also a 4K version available, if your computer can handle it. It's a large file, over 10GB so beware of that before you download it!

Please feel free to try it out!

(Only available for the Citra 3DS emulator, the texture pack does not work on real 3DS consoles).

Selecting your game region (if you're using the PAL/European or Japanese version of the game);

All you need to do now, if you're using the European version of Majora's Mask 3D, click the "Run this if you're using the PAL (European) version of the game.bat" file inside the texture pack folder. Done! It'll now work great with your version of the game. Easy, right?

How to enable MXAO (ambient occlusion) & DoF (Depth of Field):

This means you can now experience glorious self shadowing around objects, which looks really great with MM 3D's fantasy art style. Try it out by doing the following:

* Set your game view to "Single" in Citra.

* Enter fullscreen in Citra.

* Press the "HOME" button on your keyboard, this will bring up the ReShade UI.

* Check the "MXAO" box in the list of effects.

* Go to the "OpenGL" tab in ReShade and check the box next to the depth buffer in the list with the highest value (it should be a very high number while all others are 0). This number will change constantly, but don't worry it's supposed to do that!

* You're done. Have fun!

Absolutely fabulous.. Amazing job! Please, never stop. :)

For some reason I cannot get this build to work. The previous build works perfectly fine but this one just crashes on startup. (EDIT: figured it out, installed wrong project restoration version

the download quota is exceeded on both the reg link and the mirror link :(

Hey Henriko any idea why my UI is not showing up on main screen? Missing health, compass, magic and c button bars

Thank you so much for making this!

Hi Baz! You must install Project Restoration for the UI to display like that, which is included with the texture pack by default but must be installed yourself using the included installation script, which is located in the texture pack folder > "INSTALL PROJECT RESTORATION" folder. Simply run the .bat file (on Windows) and follow the instructions and it should take care of the rest!

I seem to have everything working on this but there's just a few problems. In cutscenes there's a really bad white ghosting effect around characters like skull kid and epona. I tried turning off filters in graphics options and disabled reshade effects but it's still there. Also HBAO looks broken, any way to fix this? Also how do I remove the black bars at the side of screen to get proper 16:9? I've seen youtube videos of people playing with it but no option in graphics settings. I@m using the 4k pack if that helps. Thanks

henrikomagnifico

Hi Daniel! I'm sorry for the late reply, I've been hard at work on the upcoming 1.5 update to the texture pack and have been looking into the ghosting issue you're describing. I believe I have found the cause of the issue and there should hopefully be a fix by the time the 1.5 update is out! The MXAO effect should display correctly, provided that the requirements are met; 1. Screen Layout set to Single Screen in Citra, 2. Full screen is active in Citra 3. The currently active depth buffer has been selected in the ReShade > OpenGL tab. Does the effect not display correctly even after doing these steps?

henrikomagnifico

Setting the game to 16:9 is simple, just enable the "Aspect Ratio" shader in the ReShade menu and the game window should get stretched to avoid the black bars on the sides!

Daniel Webster

Ok cool. Any idea when 1.5 will come out? It's looking great already but I'll wait for that to start my playthrough. I don't seem to have an option for 16:9 in the provided reshade options. Yeah I have everything set up correctly for mxao. It activates when I tick the OpenGL tab but it doesn't look right. There's a massive square under epona that just doesn't loon right.

henrikomagnifico

The AspectRatio shader isn't included by default in 1.4.0, however it will be included in 1.5 and beyond. You can download it manually from here and place it into the shaders folder in the texture pack directory, the \reshade-shaders\Shaders\ folder, and then it should appear in the ReShade menu! Enabling that will let you change the aspect ratio to fit 16:9. Regarding MXAO, are you playing the game in Single View + Fullscreen? Does the MXAO only look weird around Epona, or everywhere else, too? Also, what is your monitor resolution set to?

henrikomagnifico

And about 1.5, I still don't have an exact ETA for when it will be ready, but hopefully in a month or two at most. Updates for all the other texture packs are being worked on concurrently as well, so those will also be receiving updates shortly.

Marcus morris

henry the download limit has been exceeded and i do not have acess to this as a result. any workaround?

Weird, the should-be links show up as regular text in chrome. I can download other packs without issues...

henrikomagnifico

Hi Christopher! This is an old version of the texture pack and the links have thus been disabled to prevent people from mistakingly downloading the older versions by mistake. If you go to the latest version (1.5.0) the link should be active at the bottom :)

Weird I cannot find the 1.5 post anywhere
