Update 2022-02-26: The download links have been updated and should now work again!

Hello everyone!

I'm happy to present the next major update to the Zelda: Twilight Princess 4K texture pack, update 1.2! It includes hundreds of new textures, and primarily focuses on some of the earlier areas of the game, as well as common environment textures that are used all over the game. Like grass, cliff sides, trees and so on. Here's the full changelog!

New 4K grass!

The grass texture has finally been updated, after months of neglect, and looks great! Sadly screenshots doesn't make it justice, so you just have to believe me when I say it looks even better in motion! The grass also adapts based on what environment it's in, so grass placed on top of brown or yellow-ish soil will now be slightly tinted towards that color as well.

Ordona has been overhauled!

The Ordon province has been upgraded in several ways, with a majority of the environment textures having been replaced with new 4K versions made from scratch! This includes things like grass and dirt, foliage of all kinds, tree bark and coniferous, distant mountains and more.

Faron has been overhauled!

Just like the Ordon, Faron has also received new textures covering most of the environment! The new textures blend in much more nicely with the surroundings, and look much nicer than the previously used textures.

Upgraded Hyrule Field(s)!

Southern Hyrule Field has been massively enhanced with brand new hand crafted 4K textures, including both environment textures and props. This includes things like bridges, flowers and distant objects like Hyrule Castle. This change also affects the other Hyrule Fields, since they use mostly the same environment textures across all of them. So it's a larger upgrade than one might think at first!

Numerous new miscellaneous textures...

This includes things like pots, the roof tiles on Hyrule Castle, the stars in the night sky, parts of the text font has been remade. This update should also fix an issue where items didn't display their icons correctly in the item wheel!

There are two versions of the texture pack you get to select once you've downloaded it. One is the "Post Processing Edition", which includes all the post processing effects showcased in the trailer like ambient occlusion, tone mapping, bloom and more. The other version is the "Standard Edition" which doesn't include these features but has some other benefits instead.

The Post Processing Edition utilizes Ishiiruka Dolphin to achieve these features, and has some graphical features implemented not available in regular Dolphin at all. It also requires Windows 7 or higher (not compatible with MacOS or Linux) and a dedicated graphics card. Both editions include a controller preset for common gamepads like the Xbox One controller! The standard edition version alleviates some minor Dolphin bugs present in Ishiiruka Dolphin (increased stability, for example) and supports MacOS & Linux, too! But does not support any of the additional graphical features listed above, like material maps or ambient occlusion. Both versions look stunning so if you're uncertain I recommend you play the standard version- or try out both and see which one you prefer! The screenshots above are taken using the post-processing edition, a comparison might be coming shortly! *wink*

Enjoy!

Check out the older 1.1.0 trailer as well if you haven't already!

(A proper trailer for 1.2 and beyond is coming at a later date, too!)

This update, 1.1.3, is available to all you Patrons here, with a public release in two weeks from when this post was published (in 1080p)!

There is also a 4K version available, if your computer can handle it! Please feel free to try it out!

Notice: The 4K version will always look better than the 1080p version, even if you don't have a 4K display. This is because the textures are physically larger and contain more detail!

(Only available for the Ishiiruka Dolphin Emulator on PC or mobile (Android/iOS), the texture pack does not work on real Wii or Wii U consoles).

Read more information about the texture pack on my website!

Updating from an older version is super simple:

Just copy & paste the "GC" and "Wii" folders inside the "User" folder in the texture pack directory over to the new version's User folder and it should work straight away!

Download it here (4K and 1080p)!

Mirror Download (if the above one doesn't work)

iOS & Android version here!

I am only able to make things like this thanks to your support, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me do what I love!

❤️

Hi Henriko, each update you make is of such fine quality and good taste, that it only remains to tell you to continue like this, the grass, it is spectacular. Thank you.

Damn Henriko - The day after I join the Patreon, you post an update for my favourite game? Well done sir!

What you did mean with new controller presets? Are like xbox one controller button texture instead gamecube buttons in the HUD?

Tagger101

Great work as always! Quick question: is there any way to fix the occasional short bursts of freezing in the post-processing version? (Not due to my PC specs) I tried prefetching custom textures to no avail. Game runs like butter except for intermittent micro-freezes (lasting around 1 second each and about 30 seconds to 1 minute apart)

I'm having the same issue as @Tagger101^ please help

Hello. This texturepack is amazing great work!!!!!!!! But the ps4 UI has one slight problem and that is that the circle and square button are flipped so you use the sword with circle and an item with square.

every time I launch the Ishiiruka Dolphin version it gives me a warning "Failed to parse shader"

Cody Campbell

I'm getting a 404 error :(

Cody Campbell

I'm unable to download

Anonymous

Hi! Same as Cody, I'm also getting a 404. Any news about this?

I keep getting "download failed" from the google drive link. Any idea why this might be occurring? I've tried multiple networks.

Anonymous

Same problem here, can't download the texture pack through any of the links.

How do i enable "Free Cam" feature on the right joy stick of Xbox controller?

henrikomagnifico

Hi! What do you mean by "Free Cam"? Do you mean simply rotating the camera, or being able to move the camera freely anywhere, such as the feature built into Dolphin?

Anonymous

Im currently using the Wii version but it says on your website that the Twilight Princess 4k texture support free cam... i dont know what that really means?

Anonymous

I was able to download via Safari but not Chrome. Not sure what's up.

Anonymous

Fix that worked for me was just occasionally pausing the download. Ended up working.

Stephen Fischer

hey, so you mention on your website that there is potential for vr? Dolphin Vr? what do you mean?

henrikomagnifico

The texture packs work with the DolphinVR fork of the Dolphin Emulator, I specified the instructions on how to do that in our DMs :)

Anonymous

do you mind copying the conversation so i know how to do this? i have the regular working in VR just not with your awesome texture packs.

Anonymous

Nm I got it! Easy peasy as moving the texture folder over! Thanks for all your awesome work!!

Hey Henriko, just curious why this doesn't work in regular Dolphin Emulator

henrikomagnifico

Hi Sam! The texture pack should work fine in regular Dolphin as well, Just copy the included contents of the "user" folder to your own Dolphin directory (normally in "Documents" as 'Dolphin Emulator' and enable "Load Custom Textures" in the Dolphin Graphics Settings > Advanced tab, and that should work!

No problemo. I did that but was worries I must have missed something important with you recommending the other version. What is the directory for your cheat codes so I don't have to reenter them all? Other question, will this run properly using the Vulcan engine or do you still recommend D3D?

henrikomagnifico

Hi Sam! The directory for the cheat codes is the "GameSettings" folder in the dolphin directory (in case of the texture pack directory, it's in the "user" folder). And I still recommend Direct3D 11 when using the Post-Processing Edition, however on the regular Standard Edition you can now use Vulkan if you want without major issues!

Anonymous

Great thank you! Do you recommend the post processing edition or regular? Would there be any noticeable differences using the regular version of Dolphin? Sorry for the 101 questions

Is anyone having problems with Dolphin on Mac OS crashing every time you try and run the game with the custom texture pack?

henrikomagnifico

Hi Jack! Which version of the texture pack are you trying to play, the Post-Processing Edition or the Standard Edition?

Anonymous

Hi Henriko! I'm using this version 1.2.0 on Dolphin. It either crashes every time I open the rom or it doesn't load any of the custom textures and just says "Loaded 0mb in 0 seconds" and I have "Load custom textures' and 'pre-fetch customer textures" settings already selected :(

there are no links for this?

henrikomagnifico

I removed the links since lots of people were downloading 1.2 instead of 1.3 by mistake. 1.3 is the latest version and has many improvement over the old version, which you can download here; https://www.patreon.com/posts/65805117

Links, please? No links...

henrikomagnifico

The 1.2 update is outdated and the downloads are no longer maintained for it, please go to the 1.3 post instead and get the latest version here; https://www.patreon.com/posts/zelda-twilight-1-65805117
