This was the very first story & recording block Matt Smith & Karen Gillan shot as the 11th Doctor & Amy Pond. They went back and shot episode one "The 11th Hour" later in the filming schedule. With this knowledge its incredible the chemistry between both them and Alex Kingston. Moffat said years later he put alot of attention into this story which impacted poor decisions such as the size of the Paradigm Daleks in the previous episode dwarfing Matt on screen

This two-parter is so good!! I personally love any episode River is in. Also, this might be an unpopular opinion, but as good as Davies is at the thought-provoking episodes, no one beats Moffat at epic moments and big speeches. They just get better from here on out.
