Yes!  This was a great first episode and things are looking good as far as animation with instruments and accuracy of music representation!

10:10 I'm not sure if someone pointed this out in another anime reaction but in Japan calling people by their first names when you just met is unusual, that's why she was startled. It's something that usually happens between close friends. But I guess this characters is one of those poeple that just want to act friendly from the start lol.

Over the moon that you're watching this. Not sure if you looked up the episode count but maybe you'll want to double up on episodes since there's a handful of OVAs (extended side episodes), 2 main seasons and season 3 releases later this year. Honestly you picked a great time to jump on this series.

The studio that animate this show is one of the most repected studio in the industry. They rarely put out shows nowadays unlike back in the early to mid 2000 but when they do put out a show, you can bet its gonna be high quality production anime.

Sapphire wants to be called Midori, because Midori means green in Japanese and she explained that here name is written with the characters green and shining. She is probably too embarrassed because Sapphire with the character shining is too fancy and just wants to be called green.

Also recommend "Your lie in April" for musical anime or show in general which is considered containing one of the most realistic scenes of playing musical instruments and one of the highly rated animes in general

I saw this when it was airing and liked it. I spent 7 years playing trombone and baritone so it was great seeing it some of my experience represented in Anime. I don't rewatch, so it will be good to rewatch it with your commentary. Maybe add "your lie in April" to the list for a future watch. That one is about a concert pianist.
