The item "Potato Axe Beak Stew" is given to all new class trial characters. You are given a stack of 20. Strangely despite the controversy surrounding my videos at the start of the expansion about mass producing lucrative items given to class trial characters, the stew has never been made soulbound.

The average price of the stew across all realms is listed as 21G 80 silver at wowhead. It is probably an exaggeration however to describe a stack of 20 as being "worth" 436G because people try to sell items like this all the time at an exorbitant profit without necessarily finding a buyer. However, some analysis of various realms plus my experience suggest that 200G is a reasonable price for a food item which generally yields more health at its 90 bracket than other Auction House food items.

By way of comparison the stew gives you 212,500 health over 20 seconds at 90 whereas the food items available from your garrison inkeeper give you 163000 health over the same period. So, the food is worth buying for classes without self-heals and therefore likely to attract buyers.

I've also found this a useful way of getting food to my own characters when levelling up.
