HAPPY HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! The Sanderson sisters are here and ready to slayyy!! This was so much fun to finally watch a Halloween classic! And was super fun to dress up :D

Disney World does a stage show with the Sanderson sisters during Halloween season. It's not a story, just a series of Disney villain songs but if you like the music, it's fun to watch. You can find Youtube videos of the show if you're interested.

I love this movie! A childhood classic. They showed so much of Max's story at the beginning because they used to really take the time and build up who the character was in movies. It made people care about them more. Yes, I get that we understand who he is and could do it in less time, but there is something about actually seeing it that makes me bond to the character and care whether they live or die. I actually think that's what's missing from modern movies. I don't really care whether the characters live or die because the writers didn't make me care. I also think that's why it's so easy to root for the villains today, which you mentioned in your review. Obviously, by the end of the movie you didn't want Binx or Dani to die right? Well, that is something that older movies give us. Hocus Pocus 2 is trash. It's everything wrong with modern movies imo. It's a shame too because they actually were able to get the women back that played the three witches. They had a great opportunity to make a great sequel. Instead, I didn't care at all about the main characters and found myself rooting for the witches for the exact reason I mentioned above. That's not my idea of a well written sequel. The new writers also seemed to not understand the POINT of the entire movie. There is more I could say, but it would majorly spoil it, so I won't.

Oh, and wanted to say...they did a great job balancing a movie that both kids and adults can enjoy. They put in plenty of stuff that only adults would get, but they also made it so that kids could enjoy it too. THAT is the sign of a good movie and something that the sequel failed at. The sequel is mostly made for kids.

I wanted to see if you recognized Larry aka Ernir aka ICe lol but u didn't... So I'll throw this trivia in. The guy who plays Max (Omri Katz) was in a show called "Eerie, Indiana" which some believe was inspo for Stranger Things. And speaking of Stranger Things, the blonde bully played an agent in that show.

Also I do think you should watch part 2 at least once (wait for end credits) but I think it's a one time only watch. Whereas the 1st one is a Halloween holiday tradition.

I guess it's a US thing.. Even though the lead kid actor is Israeli I've never heard of it growing up and only became aware of it through cultural references in American film and TV, a few years ago, and I kind of got the impression it wasn't a very good film (Also, I had the opposite idea about the whole virgin thing and didn't feel like sitting through - what I thought would be - a religious lecture movie about abstinence). I watched it for the first time out of curiosity literally 2 days before you uploaded your reaction and I was so pleasantly surprised! This movie is a gem! 😂 I tried watching the new one now.. I got 9:30 minutes in before I got so bored it made me want to rewatch the original, so I hopped in here 😜 So glad you liked it.
