NEW PERK: Contract Projection Cards and Free Agent Signer (Patreon)

It's finally here. You might have seen me post these contract projection cards on Twitter in the past week or so, and throughout that time I've been working on making them available to you guys. I'm very excited to say that they're good to go.

These cards combine Patrick Bacon's WAR model outputs from the past three seasons with an age curve derived from the same data which projects how, on average, players' results tend to change as they age. Combined with a calculation that estimates the cost of a win in cap percentage and a projection of how the salary cap will increase in the future, this allows an educated estimate of how contracts will pan out.

The sheet includes these cards for both forwards and defencemen, and a little something extra: a free agent signer.

I put out a small-scale version of this last season before free agency which was very popular, but thanks to my partnership with Patrick I can offer the full deal. 

This tool is similar to the regular contract cards, but it lets you decide the contract. Every pending free agent is available, and you pick an annual cap hit, term, and signing team to see how it would project. 

Free agency is in a couple days, so have fun with this one. And don't let it depress you too much.
