Splitting into 2 as it's a long one but this was so sick and I can't wait for more!

Are you gonna post the second part next week ?

Jeff Cabrera

Hahaha yes! Glad you’re enjoying it so far. Here are some trivia tidbits: *This was an HBO Max exclusive (VOD internationally where the app isn’t available). Zack Snyder wanted to release this in theaters, but WB refused. *Despite this being around 4 hours, the theatrical cut was only 2 hours. LOTS left on the cutting room floor, including Cyborg’s backstory/the entire Flash saving Iris West sequence in this first half. *WB didn’t like the design for Steppenwolf so they changed it very late for the theatrical version (check it out, it’s crap). When they finally gave Zack money to finish this film, he was able to complete a lot of the unfinished CGI (including Steppenwolf’s original design. *That is Sergi Constance as Zeus ⚡️💪🏽😂 ***Also, glad you went with my recommendation on where to split it btw 👍🏽(when you watch Part 2, you’ll understand lol)

would you recommend me watching it in two parts or better to wait for the second half before watching it all?

Jeff Cabrera

Up to you if you think you can handle a 4 hour sitting. If not (or unsure), probably best to split it.

I had forgotten how much I love this movie

I had watched the theatrical one but for some reason my only recollection was the shrine stuff early on and vaguely some Aquaman stuff. I really enjoyed this. Felt like the characters were given space and not rushed. I really liked The Flash's character. Threat feels very real similar to Thanos, though obviously nowhere near as built up at all. Also having now seen Man of Steel and Wonder Woman for the first time, it all has a lot more weight for me. I didn't realise DC had so much mythological ties to it all, is actually kinda cool. Hopefully Marvel manage it well cus for now it feels a little silly introducing such things by name and not fleshed out yet. Am excited for next week to see the final half with all the action it's going to bring. It definitely feels a little special. I'm not sure what is is about most of these DC movies in this universe but they have a certain feel to them which feels nice. Like even if the plot was to suck, they would still be fun and entertaining and I can't quite put my finger on why that is, relative to other movies at least. Random side note, I think it's so funny how much Midsommar has embedded on us that whenever there is particularly Nordic people together or chanting or whatever we immediately think of that lol. Also London appearing in the film, obviously going to do well 😂

Just wished I could hear the characters speak. It was a little disjointed not being able to.

Connor Ellis

Yeah because this is how Snyder wanted to do things, it won't match up with the film "Aquaman", as they drastically changed how things looked after the dogshit version of Justice League.

No Sunday watch?

he often leaves a week or two between starting new shows, little bit of a break

The Seven Deadly Sins

OMG, I watched the original first years ago, then I just watched this version a week ago and then my family watched the original. The Snyder cut is so...SO much better!

I’m 10 minutes into this. Is the movie going to be mute the entire reaction? 😑

This is why it would have been helpful to watch this immediately after BvS. At the end of the movie, Lex was rambling about the bell being rung, the god is dead, and he's coming. That was referring to what you see at the beginning with the boxes waking up. And it was that 80% of the movie was cut for the theatrical release. Joss Whedon reshot most of the movie to make it "lighter" and cut all the important stuff. Laughed about the inconceivable comment about losing focus in the second half and then waiting almost 2 weeks to finish watching. smh Seb is funny.

Yes. Copyright doesn't allow movies shown in their entirety on Patreon, which is why you'll notice they're blurred and silent. You have to have your own copy to follow along.

Inhuman Paradox

Actually Aquaman was already entirely written BEFORE Joss took over JL. The plan was ALWAYS for Wan to give Atlantis Proper a different look from the Old Shrine in JL. Aquaman was written off of the JL Zack had in 2016 and early 2017, not off of Joss' version. Note that in 2020, Zack un-did some of the changes already done to his JL back then, which included Mera's accent. So the most canon version of JL is neither Josstice or ZSJL, but the "compromised" Snyder Cut from March 2017.
