Holy sh— I did not expect this until next week, deep breaths, deeeeeep breaths. 😮‍💨🤭 Cannot wait to watch!!!

Jeff Cabrera

I will never forget watching this in the cinema… I actually was half covering my eyes during the “WHY SO SERIOUS?” scene. I had literal chills. Because he was previously portrayed on screen as campy, that was the first time I realized the Joker could actually be scary.

Davide

Seb on Monday: "We will be going through these weekly with Dark Knight next week". Seb on Thursday: "Next week has arrived, yay". Well, I'm definitely not complaining.

Inhuman Paradox

Fun fact: Heath Ledger directed the phone camera scene himself. The other actor was legitimately terrified too, since Ledger had been method acting and become so absorbed into the role.

yeah i mean, fk it, next week is today! more for me to watch

I never thought I would say this, but ‘too much content’!😅🙈 I can’t keep up😂🤓 #firstworldproblems

Oh and to clear up the confusion, it’s implied the Joker switched the addresses so that Batman wouldn’t be able to save Rachel (since he knew how much he cared about her). You could tell Batman hesitates before saving Harvey because he wasn’t expecting to see him. A true savage.

Too many words I have for this masterpiece... Heath's final performance and it's untouchable and total perfection. Undeniable. :P

Gambit

Another Fun Fact! Heath Ledger improvised the hospital scene explosion. There was a malfunction with it, so his reaction to banging on the detonator was real! Such a legend. Great reaction Seb! xoxox <3

From what I've heard, when the joker comes to the party, Michael Caine is supposed to have a line but he was so freaked out by the joker that he forget his line..... Also... Remember in ant man 2 - the guy claiming the villain was "baba yaga"? that's the guy you thought was familiar...

Hurray! Such a good movie, and great to re-watch it with you. I agree, this movie completely baffles and mesmerizes me. Just holds you so tight. This Joker interpretation is superb. And the delivery by Ledger, incredible. Scary, realistic, credible, insane in the worst sense. An apostle of chaos, trying to prove their mad beliefs, which are kind of probably-true. At the same time, a genius planner, always three step ahead of everyone else. And, of course, a ruthless killer of the worse kind. And that voice... Yeah, it's the worst kind of creepy. So, who did you identify as for the rest of your night, in the end?

This film was amazing. I think the first film being such a good introduction to Batman as a character and everything he can do setup this film to focus more on the villains, the victims and the moral landscape of Gotham during a crisis, which is probably one of the reasons it was as good as it is. I think it only being a trilogy helps it out a lot as well in how dark and intense it can be. Acting was all amazing again, Heath Ledger obviously being the stand out. I think this version of the Joker was also a perfect fit for Nolan's style. Hans Zimmer as well of course. For a superhero style film, was a once in a generation level of good.

Look at us being Seb-spoilt! :D Such an insane movie - and yeah, the fact that the hospital explosion is ALL practical and real is completely insane! And you can understand how Heath Ledger had some serious mental health issues after having been in character for so long and being so immersed. He really was incredible. Looking forward to the finale of this trilogy :) Still pulling for reactions to the early Batman movies ^^

I think the only thing better than re-watching this movie is getting to see other people watch it for the first time, and of course you didn't disappoint, Seb. The hype was so real haha. It still amazes me to this day that Christopher Nolan took the idea of Batman and turned it into a complex, epic crime thriller that just so happened to have a superhero at the centre of it, rather than making a typical cheesy, CGI-filled comic book movie (nothing wrong with those sometimes either, of course). This builds beautifully on the world and characters introduced in Batman Begins, the soundtrack is even better this time, and then to top it all off, Heath Ledger completely steals the whole movie with his iconic performance. A near perfect film in my opinion. So looking forward to seeing your reaction to the last part in the trilogy 🦇💙

Such a good reaction to this, as usual. I was excited for you to see Heath as the Joker obviously, but Aaron Eckhart's Harvey Dent is such a killer if not underrated surprise performance when you first watch... I love how you were drawn to him, too. How can you not be? But yeah, I also like how much you laughed at the Joker in this, he's terrifying but he's also hilarious, like the dark comedic timing is so good... "You think you can steal from us and just walk away??" "Yeah." Dead. And I think the most hype I was in the theater was when Bruce is playing chicken with the semi on the bat bike and goes flat, weaves the cable through the bottom and around the posts, and then does that 180 reverse up the wall of the building to flip around. Lost my mind. So did everyone else around me. Lost their shit. And to be honest, though this is certainly the most iconic of the three, the hype doesn't really stop with the next one. Excited for it!! Oh also, this could be a good film to watch if you want to see Heath Ledger in a completely opposite role; A Knight's Tale. It's an oldie and cheeky, but it's hilarious, and it's got Paul Bettany who is stellar in it, Mark Addy who plays Robert Baratheon... quite a few others, it's great! Lighthearted, fun watch.

Just rewatched it with you, and this film does get better on each rewatch. Obligatory RIP Heath Hedger.

Angie H.

heath ledger’s best performance 👏🏼 and seb, thank you for the unexpected treat!!

you said you didn't know much about heath and his death....he was so method and sucked into playing this manic character that he needed sleeping drugs and i think alcohol to cope....killed him playing this perfection. he won the oscar posthumously

I had a brief look into his death. It seems like he had a very long history of Insomnia (taking prescription drugs to deal with that) as well as Anxiety (also taking medication for) and likely a history of recreational drug use as well. He was already filming a new movie and during filming contracted a minor pneumonia which he was also taking medication for. His death was deemed an "accident, resulting from the abuse of prescribed medications.", which to this date investigators weren't sure where he got them all from. It seems like the connection between his Joker role and his death might have come about as a romanticism about the role as his sister had this to say: “Honestly, that’s been the biggest thing for us as a family,” says Kate Ledger, Heath’s elder sister, by phone. “He had an amazing sense of humor and certainly playing the Joker, for him it was one big gag. He had so much fun doing that. It was actually the exact opposite. There was no doom and gloom. ... That was a shock to me that people even thought that, really.” AND "I was really shocked, because that was him having fun," she said. "Every report was coming out that he was depressed and that [the role] was taking this toll on him, and we're going, honestly, it was the absolute opposite. It couldn't be more wrong. He had an amazing sense of humour, and I guess maybe only his family and friends knew that, but he was having fun. He wasn't depressed about the Joker!"

your facial expression after the movie was done was like "were do we go from here?" like, what more can we/you expect? this is an absolute masterpiece.

Terrence s

Best superhero movie of all time hands down. It’s in my top 5 movies ever!

VidKris

Where is early access? You said on Batman begins it was on here already? As I can’t watch the full length and I can’t wait a week for YouTube! 😭 lol

Anonymous

Not exactly sure what you are asking 😅. The early access is watching his full reaction (Dark Knight) before it's edited and uploaded to YouTube. There is no early access to edited YouTube videos here if that is what you were expecting.

VidKris

Oh

VidKris

“Edited YouTube video” is exactly what I was asking! I swear he dose early access YouTube releases?! Or is that other reactors?

Anonymous

I don't think Seb has ever done that. He gets them onto YouTube pretty quickly anyways so not much need for early access to YouTube vids here. You must be thinking of another reactor who does that. The full reaction to Dark Knight is very much worth watching if you can find a copy to watch it alongside him.

Davide

The hospital explosion is probably actually real, yeah (well, real explosion, not real hospital). Christopher Nolan always uses practical effects as much as possible, sometimes going to incredible lengths to accomplish that. This movie is amazing and I loved your reaction, as usual. You said you didn't talk much, but you talked enough and so did your facial expressions.

Michael

I don't even need to look up how it was made, on the final shot of the explosion as it collapses, it really looks like a multistory parking lot, and when they show it after the explosions you can see inside half the building. The bridge out the front was likely added as something extra to collapse.

I saw this in the cinema when it came out and I was 13, I didn't overly understand the plot hahah but have since seen the film multiple times and it's SO GOOD. You should watch 10 Things I Hate About You if you want some more Heath Ledger :) and Brokeback Mountain!

Bonnie

Every time I watch this movie, it's so unbelievable that it's Heath Ledger under that makeup, especially having seen him in other stuff. Incredible actor, gone way too soon.
