Persona 3 is going to be my first Persona game, I want to see where it all came from. Plus they say this is the darkest, I can see why wirh the gun method rather than ripping off the mask.

Each Persona numbered title has its own separate story and characters. Persona 3, 4, and 5 all have different stories. Honestly if you want an introduction to any of their stories without spoilers, you could start with a "first hour of gameplay" of some kind, or just try the games out yourselves. I personally do recommend Persona 3 (Reload, Portable, FES, whichever version you wish) as an intro to the series, but 5 works too (and is way cheaper right now).

Oh! But I'd like to add: having watched you both for the past few years I definitely see you both being more invested in Persona 5's story early on than in Persona 3's. But of course y'all can react to whatever you want. Persona 3 is about life and death Persona 4 is about truth and ideas and Persona 5 is about societal reformation and rebellion
