Usually we think of VCRs as boxes that hook up to the TV in the living room. This Sony GV-500, though, is quite a bit smaller.

Mighty Jabba's Collection

Back in the early 90s, I had a slightly later model of Video Walkman (I think the GV-S50). It was a clamshell model that was slightly more portable. I loved that thing at the time. I was briefly a member of the Columbia House 8mm movie club, but mostly I would dub movies over from laser disc. After a while I had a briefcase full of my favorite movies that I would bring on trips. Seems kind of quaint now that we can literally watch anything we want on our phones or computers, but it was amazing back then!
