Hey there Patrons!

Late night post this week apparently! Going to keep it brief since there's not a huge amount of things to go over, so let's get right into it.

This week was kind of all over the place for me. Some days were really productive, other days were loaded with stress and I couldn't get anything done, and one day in particular I lost nearly all of my work time because my computer was performing so poorly that any little thing would nearly cause it to crash. Fortunately the time spent working to fix it did make things better, but my computer still isn't running as smoothly as it could be. Needless to say, that didn't help with the stress, as the end-of-month time frame is always a bit stressful for me because of things like rent and the like, and this week was no different. Combine those factors, and as an unsurprising result, I didn't get as much done as I wanted to, and certain projects wound up taking longer than I would have liked as well.

The upsides were completing FletcherCorvus' commission and making a lot of progress on Kezzup's commission as well, though I had wanted to finish that one this weekend, but it didn't pan out. That'll be finished soon though, ideally in the next day or two. Both of those pieces have been really fun to work on though, and for how rarely I draw more humanoid faces, I'm extremely happy with how Kezzup's gobbo came out.

That said, commissions were what I was focusing my time on when I was able to get in the zone, so there's not much in the way of sketches or personal work apart from a few preliminary sketches of the alternate versions of Michiru I have planned, and some cooldown sketches of a new kobold design (which was after a particularly productive day). I don't have a name for her or know if I'm going to make her into a separate character, she's already got a similar design to both Brisket and Cookie in a way, though knowing me that probably won't be enough to stop me if I do decide to make her a character, haha.

The main goal of that piece was to practice painting techniques more though. I've said it multiple times already that I want to try my hand at digital painting, and this is the first step in that direction, by slowly removing my reliance on lineart to mandate how light should flow across a form. Don't get me wrong, I still like my art with lineart, but I want to see if I can have a painterly style to go with it, and I won't know if I can until I try!

Alright, that'll do it for this week's snapshot! I'm hoping next week will be better and that my computer will perform more smoothly. I know I need to get to work on a replacement or some upgrades in the near future, so it might be time to look into another growth drive or something. But that's a topic for another time.

As always, thank you all so much for your support! I hope you had a great weekend, and that this week is a wonderful one for you! Until next time!
