El Falcon y Soldado Invierno! Muy Bien Cassie!

Stick Figure Studios

Not bad, but probably my least favorite of the Disney+ MCU shows.

Michael Brown

Thanks for posting these two episodes and showing up on YouTube chat, Cassie! New Capt America is real life son of Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, and half-brother of Kate Hudson.

Stick Figure Studios

True. I watched one episode of "What if" and couldn't do anymore. Maybe I should have said it's the weakest of the live-action Disney+ shows, but I still enjoyed it.

rubberkidney

trust me its a lot better if you get talented people to write it and talented people to animate it. what if had none of that.

rubberkidney

all of the shows have been terrible. its mind boggling to me that they cant find talented people to create these stories. there is so much material left in the marvel universe the fact that this is what they are turning out is pathetic.

Richard Maurer

The problem with What If? is that they have to cram a whole movies worth of story (or more) into a half hour, so all the episodes (even the last couple) seem rushed. Not a lot of time for nuance.

Richard Maurer

This is your opinion. While some (Wanda Vision, Loki) were better than others (What If?) I enjoyed them all. It seems lately that a lot of people expect everything Marvel puts out for the MCU to be Infinity War/Endgame level, and if it's not then it's complete garbage. The truth is they had to build to Infinity War/Endgame, and they are going to have to build to that level again. Also, they seem to be using the Disney+ series as set-ups for the movies so don't expect anything earth-shattering to come out of them and just enjoy them for what they are.

Joseph Rardin

I got tired of the MCU after watching them all in order last summer. Halfway through I realized it was the exact same sequence of events over and over again, I made it through, but was really bored.

ArsTropica

Knowing Marvel's track record with animation, I decided to give What If... a hard pass. Enjoyed this series though - but I understand that the subject matter may exasperate the anti-wokeists.

Richard Maurer

A lot of Marvel haters here. The "It's popular so it must be bad, now please watch my obscure favorite from 1952" crowd.

ArsTropica

Well... now that you mention it... there was that one film from 1934 that I liked as a kid, The Scarlet Pimpernel. 😁 "They seek him here, they seek him there... Those Frenchies seek him everywhere... Is he in heaven or is he in hell? That demned elusive Pimpernel"

Ben Livingstone

Make sure you get the full version, though. It's a little bit rare, but it has some delicious bits they cut out of the other version!

Patrick Flanagan

Stories still need to work on their own merits. Saying this 5 hour series is just a trailer for the REAL stories coming later is not much of a defense.

Patrick Flanagan

One can say the same about James Bond films or MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE or any number of franchises. Marvel is hardly unique in this regard

Joseph Rardin

I guess that's why I like Star Wars. Always different...except the sequals.

Cole Jennett

I’m not sure I see the similarities between WandaVision, FATWS, Loki, and What if…?

Jay

Nearly 2500 patrons here. If you were to randomly select and survey the opinions of 2500 movie fans, and keep repeating the process, pretty sure you'd find a lot of Marvel haters every time. Some of us just don't like the MCU, get over it.

Happy Hanukkah

Akin: This, but unironically. I've only seen this clip from the 1934 movie, but it makes me want to watch it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QD0cE8B5Dj0 And to bring it full circle, I have seen and enjoyed the The Scarlet Pimpernel 1999 miniseries, starring someone Marvel fans should be familiar with.

If they were better, we wouldn't complain!

ArsTropica

HH - I remember after watching this back in the 70's when I was a kid, I grabbed a pair of scissors and cut out a homemade cape for myself. The SP was my gateway superhero movie. Good times!

Happy Hanukkah

And here I thought you watched it as a kid when it was originally released! :-)

Richard Maurer

A set-up is much different than a trailer, but you already know that. I personally love the interconnectivity of the MCU, it's as close as they could come to the original comics in the media that they are using. The fact that one movie or show can link to others, often in unexpected ways, is an amazing feat of organization and storytelling.

Mark Sylvester

I liked it but I am a big fan of Mark Gruenwald's 10 year run on Captain America. Especially the John Walker as Cap story. As for "What if" I also quit after a few episodes but I never was a fan of the "What if" comics. I read comics for what happens not what could of happened. I thought the animation was good but the first episode was too corny. The second was better but I had already tired of the What if concept.

ArsTropica

HH '70s Rural England was a time bubble so it might have been '34

Richard Maurer

Better than what? The crapton of series on Netflix? The garbage coming from network television? Well, in my opinion, they are better. But you enjoy what you like, while Cassie and a lot of people here enjoy these Marvel series.

Jay

Garbage like It's a Sin, Mare of Easttown and series 3 of Succession (that's only going back 12 months)? An insane amount of great TV shows have come out in the last 20 years, not all of them feature superheroes:)

Damien beatty

There are some Marvel movies I do enjoy about 5. The only Marvel series I think has been worth watching is Wandavision so far. So it's not like its all garbage, but I am certainly not going to just like something because it is in a "Universe" such as Marvel or Star Wars if it has lazy writing, and just explosions for the sake of action. I haven't watched network television in years so I woldn't know about that, but there are amazing original shows on Netflix, Hulu, The Criterion Channel, and HBO Max.

Richard Maurer

While there are definitely some MCU movies and shows I enjoy much more than others , I can honestly say I've never seen anything in the MCU that I thought was bad. This doesn't include other superhero movies and shows, including non-MCU Marvel properties. But in the MCU - for me - nothing has ever been less than entertaining.

JSharp

There really is a movie from 1952 that is better than any of the MCU streaming series. It's called High Noon. It's not obscure, though. And it's got Cassie's girl crush Grace Kelly in it, to boot.
