About the question how fans reacted when this aired, there actually is a take that some fans had on a dialogue in this episode. So in the rain kiss scene Damon says "Time to abandon ship" and Elena answers with "give it a second, it will clear up" and people interpreted that as also meaning that the fans shouldn't abandon the Delena ship yet, because it would clear up. Since I read that for the first time I liked it a lot and I'm always thinking about it. The rain kiss was a bit of fan service though, because there was a scene in season 1x17 where Elena and Damon are in the rain talking to each other very closely and ever since then Delena fans wanted a rain kiss and with this we got it. They also did a special video for comic con that is related to that rain scene and when Victor said it's a cheesy line I was immediately thinking of a moment from that video. The whole long version of that video has spoiilers for the rest of the season, but some people just posted that last part of the video that is kind of a parody of this scene and was filmed extra for comic con. I love Steroline build up I think is one of the best things in this season…a lot of people actually stopped watching it cause they were pissed but they eventually came back to it. Ugh Liam is so pushy, he’s annoying….

i don't understand why they chose to have a character named Liz and another one Liv like?? that's confusing! tv shows love to do that like in teen wolf aiden and hayden?? maybe it's bc english is not my first language but i can't really differentiate both names
