Alright guys and gals. Once again thank you for joining me here on this online yoga video journey.

Here is a new video for the next lesson. These lessons are the foundations for a method of teaching that I'm forming to help people learn really good yoga at home :)

I'm really thinking that the visual cues on this video is the best way to convey the lesson... and I am wondering if you think it is effective? My goal is to share these foundational lessons for people to really be able to get comfortable doing yoga at home, ie yoga on their own.

Lesson Four - Progress in Downdog + One Big Step to Lunge

Downdog is a perfect "place" to assess musculoskeletal activation and alignment. There are a number of things that could prevent a comfortable experience and it is good to be familiar with all the various layers.

For example, the hands and wrists could feel uncomfortable; the feet and legs could feel tight; the hips could feel stiff; the upper body could feel heavy.

Depending on the experience, there are certain paths to take.

But first you have to identify where your limitations are.

If you can maintain your downdog with relative comfort and attention, then the next step is to measure how much time you are there in the asana.

Is it 30sec? Is it 1min?

One minute is a nice goal to ensure you are working through your limitations in a progressive and healthy way.
