Instruction: download the zip below and extract it over the game folder from this post. Make sure that App.exe and unitdatas_.json are replaced with the newer one. 

EDIT: updated attachment to fix grab select not working for enemies

Changelog

  • added card-based grab selection
  • vastly improved the "starter deck" for Iron Mask and Violet
  • many changes to existing cards and added new ones
  • added multi-targeted ability, for example: Cleave - Attack 3, Targets 2
  • implemented AI for multi-targeted abilities, mentioning this incase any AI-related issue props up
  • redone the text glyph rendering and text are now aligned to the same Y-baseline 
  • buffed gobbos and trooper enemies as they felt a bit on the weaker side 
  • fixed AI not showing their move and threat ranges on first turn
  • defeated units (0 red health left) are no longer valid targets during combat phase to prevent AI to repeatly grabbing defeated units and ignoring unit still active
  • fixed bug that caused the Exhaust keyword to be lost on certain cards when used during grabs
  • fixed bug that causes the next unit's turn to come before animations are over (such as from Encore)
  • fixed gui elem can sometimes by obstructed by environmental objects
  • various gui tweaks + fixes

Have to say that I think the card battle system is an improvement.

I like the new grab system better than the old one since it can't miss, which means even fodder enemies can grab your characters. Though I was thinking enemies that are going for a grab need a bit more range, maybe 2 hexes? They're pretty easy to avoid atm. Maybe just make grabbing at longer range a specialty for some enemies, like the slave girls.

Yea that might work. You can try it out by editing the "slave_girl" "moveBonus" from 3 to 4 (so Grab cards become Move 2, Grab instead of Move 1, Grab) in the unitdata_.json and see if that's better. For actual long range grabs I'm waiting to implement pull effects first so the long distance grabs doesnt look weird. For example, a long range grab would be something like Pull 2, Grab, Range 3.
