It was a beautiful day in a world that was very dear to us, yet not exactly close to ours. The door to the arena opened up once again as two figures walked out of it, both on the verge of crying. Many people definitely considered asking what had happened to them, but judging from where they had come from it was pretty obvious.

“How…? How did we lose three times in a row…?” The one with the large gown asked, shaking her head in complete disbelief. “We had the level advantage too. How are you this bad…?”

“I…I can’t… Nobody told me that you are a psychic type in this form! I didn’t know you couldn’t handle bugs, okay?” The other, much more human girl replied, shaking her orange haired head profoundly.

“Have you visited the trainer school…? That's usually the place where anyone can learn the basics.” The inhuman one replied with an expression between anger and just straight up concern. “I have played this thing before. Literally the entire island is a school. How did you not… also, I am not even weak to bug! Do you know nothing about…?!?”

“I get it…” The dark clothed human girl replied, sounding more defeated than before. “I knew I was bad at games, but I really thought with your help I could… Nevermind.”

The two looked at each other for a short while without saying a word, both still looking very defeated and discouraged. Even their motorcycle dinosaur looked worried at the two, feeling the tension that was in the air between them and tried to calm them down by snuggling to the human looking girl.

“...maybe we can bring our motorcycle guy to fight?” She then said out of nowhere, petting the creature to her left.

“I can promise you right now that you won't be able to until much later in the game.” The inhuman one replied and sighed afterwards. “Maybe you should just look up a youtube walkthrough when you get back home…”

“NO! I refuse! I will beat this game without any walkthroughs or guides!” The orange haired girl shouted, balling her fist while looking determined. “My pride as a goddess is on the line here!”

“Good for you. So what is your plan now, mistress? Do you wanna go into the arena again and throw me at it until I can somehow make it work? Because I don't see that happening anytime soon.” The monstrous one replied sarcastically while shrugging her shoulders.

“Nope, we are going home now.” The goddess chimed, her mood suddenly drastically improved. She then reached her hand forward and snapped, causing a dark vortex like portal to open up in front of the both of them. “And I am going to do some research on my own~ Oh, you are going to be so impressed with me tomorrow~ Kekeke~”

The orange haired goddess then immediately stepped through the portal, leaving the two monsters behind for a moment. And after the monstrous girl looked the dinosaur in the eyes for a second, she let out. “...let's see if I really get impressed by that. Your last idea didn’t get you very far either, hope you remember that…”

And with that, both of them followed their mistress through the portal as well, which quickly closed afterwards.

— Later that night —

It was a quiet evening in a dimension so far away and yet so close. The office table was dimly lit while a certain dark dressed goddess hung over the computer of her brother, searching through anything she could find that would help her on her journey. And the fact that her brother was peacefully sleeping in the same room didn't stop her in the slightest, only meaning that she had to be marginally quiet so as to not wake him up.

But this little research session at least yielded some interesting results indeed…

“I see… So the player have a fanterm for the strongest pokemon in each region that can be caught by players. They call them pseudo legendaries… interesting…” The goddess mumbled to herself so quietly that it was impossible to overhear her.

“And the first gym is bug type, which only have a few weaknesses.” She contemplated, looking through her options. “There are no fire type pseudo legendaries, but there is one rock and two flying type ones… hmm…”

She then scoured through various forums and wikis a bit more, causing another hour to pass in a heartbeat. But at least now she felt reasonably confident again, turning off the computer with a big smile on her face.

“It seemed like a close call, but people seemed to agree that the rock type is slightly better than the flying type pseudo. Now I only need a fitting target… Oh wait! I remember!" She almost shouted, but remembered that it still was the middle of the night. And still she opened up the computer again. “He should have his special day tomorrow. This will be the perfect present~ Hehehe~ Now what was the name of the rock thing again?”

“...why am I so bad at remembering anything game related. Almost feels like a curse…” She sighed, then shooting a quick smile towards her brother who was still happily snoring beside her. “Uhm… Large rock dinosaur pokemon… there we go~ I better save a pic on my phone so that I can craft a perfect gift for him later~ He will never see this one coming~”

“I can’t help but feel like something is off…” Nick said after returning home from his errand, checking around every room to confirm his suspicions. It was quiet. Too quiet. Like a certain person still wasn’t wasn’t home yet…

“Alright. Where did Azalea go?” Nick asked into the room, knowing full well that no one would hear him. “She has not been home for like 2 days. At first I thought she was preparing something for my birthday, but if she's not back today then that doesn’t make sense. Was she kidnapped…?”

He then stopped and laughed to himself for a moment. “Ah yes, Azalea and getting kidnapped. It’s not like she is the most dangerous person of anyroom she is in. I am not even sure I would know a person that could even attempt to kidnap her…”

Ding Dong

“Huh? Was I expecting someone?” He let out in surprise, but ran to the door regardless to see who was there. “Hello?”

“Heya and happy birthday Nick~” A familiar voice chimed out and a dark skinned girl appeared in front of his door the moment he opened it, with quite a few small explosions to celebrate her arrival. “Hope you don’t mind me dropping in one you~”

“Oh. Nagisa. What are you doing here?” Nick asked, understandably confused about the sudden arrival of a goddess and good friend of his and Azaleas. Because when she showed up, it was usually to either complain to azalea about something, to plot something with Azalea or to mess with him.

And with Azalea missing he had a feeling that he knew why she was here…

“I came here to give you your magical birthday gift of course~” Nagisa chimed, happily stepping into the house. And the fact that wherever she went followed a trail of faint dark mist wasn’t ominous at all…

“Are you ready for magic~?” Nagisa asked, looking like she pulled out something behind her and was now hiding it behind her body, coated in a thick layer of dark mist.

Normal people would probably be scared about an almost almighty goddess of darkness, barging into their room with a present that was almost certainly going to turn that person into whatever her heart desired. But then again, Nick wasn’t a normal person.

“Sure thing! Lay it on me!” He declared, bravely facing down the goddess which he knew that he could regret, though he really didn’t think that she would try anything nefarious on his birthday. Though she definitely wasn’t above giving him mischievous gifts, which he was more than okay with.

When Nagisa suddenly…

Plop~

…moved faster than he could see and slammed what felt like a helmet on top of Nick's head. The boy obviously wasn’t hurt, but reeled a bit from the impact.

“What? Hey!” Nick cried. He reached up and tried to pry it off his head, but the helmet remained on. After a brief moment, he gave up, knowing that he couldn’t overpower Nagisa’s magic with force alone. “This feels like an odd shaped helmet. Did you superglue this on my head or something?”

“You could say that, but that's not important right now~” Nagisa happily said, putting her hands together with a knowing grin on her face. “Do you remember the bet we made almost four months ago?”

“Bet? No I don’t think so-Oww!” Suddenly, Nick winced as he felt a small pain formed on his head. When he reached up, he quickly noticed that the helmet Nagisa forced him to wear had some holes in it front and center… and he could also feel that something was about to grow out of them.

Reaching with his hands inside something pointy grew out of them, originating from his skull and now almost piercing through the helmet on the other side. Even when those pointy hornlike rods reached the fresh air, they still kept going for a while, until he could even see them in his peripheral vision. They looked like metal horns coming out of his head.

“Well, it wasn’t really a bet. More so bet-like.” Nagisa clarified, looking like she was briefly thinking to herself, which confused Nick a fair bit. He had never seen Nagisa so scatterbrained before in his life. “Anyway, you were complaining about these Pokemon games, crimson and magenta were their names, saying how bad they were and stuff because of bad programming and similar. So a brilliant idea came to me…”

A weird feeling in his head once again distracted Nick, as his hair immediately followed the next step in the transformation process. As he grabbed what little of his hair was accessible to him under the helmet, he noticed that it was way more than he expected. Just as a whole, his hair was way longer than he remembered and held an unexpected softness as well.

That's when he realized that it was actively growing out, cascading down his back, making him shudder as it tickled the back of his neck. After a while he couldn’t help himself but grab a handful of it, admiring the new softness and unexpected shift in color. After all, his mane definitely wasn’t a metallic silver before. Though before he knew it his hair had also already stopped growing, only casually reaching down to his buttocks by now.

“What if I tried to recreate a world that is exactly like that game, only with everything working properly. I bet that if I do that, I could even beat this game that you have such a strong opinion about.” Nagisa continued, her eyes shining brightly.

“Wait. You recreated a pokemon world?” Nick let out, trying to ignore the tingling feeling that had spread to his arms and legs and instead focus on the kind of insane thing Nagisa just proclaimed.

“Yes! And my logic was that if I manage to beat the game in my specially prepared world, I could once and for all proof you and Hiros wrong, that I am bad at video games!” Nagisa declared proudly, though by now the feeling in his arms was so strong that he couldn’t ignore it anymore.

It was like his body was converting all of his muscles and fat from his arms into something hard to amplify his skin, which then naturally caused his limbs to slim down significantly. He ran his hands over them to get a better feel of what was going on, though one gentle squeeze told him that all of his body hair on his limbs had already disappeared. Now it was just him with his slim but surprisingly hard arms.

A similar thing was happening at his lower half, though far not as focused on slimming down. Instead, it more so felt like the muscles in his legs were converted into both more plush to bolster his thighs and the hard material that amplified the complexion of his skin. To be honest it kinda felt like his entire body was trying to reinforce his skin with something he could only describe as the middle ground between rock and steel.

“So you are trying to beat a pokemon game IRL?” Nick asked, more out of curiosity than shock. After all, that sounded like something he would immediately ask Nagisa to let him do as well, if he got the chance.

“Yes, exactly!”

“Though what does that have to do with transforming me? Based on what I have seen so far it doesn’t look like you are turning me into a pokeba… *Cough* *cough*! You are at least turning me into a Meowscarada, right?” Nick suddenly had to cough as his throat had started to burn.

“Oh no. I would never do that~” Nagisa assured, while Nick was fighting with his own throat. He had a feeling that his adams apple was about to disappear since it was the thing that itched so much, and he was right since it indeed felt like it was receding. Though Nagisa just happily added. “You know I would just turn you into a monster girl, right~”

“That's what I was thinking too… Agk!” Nick moaned in a much more feminine voice as a  sudden throbbing pain went through his face, making Nick wince. It was like his bones started to shift his face, resculpting his visage into a much cuter form. His lips grew a little larger as his nose let out a cracking noise while shrinking as well. Gone was the face of a young man, and its place was that of a pretty young girl who would have been able to charm anyone with a bat of her eyelashes.

“So I am obviously turning you into a pokegirl so that you can join me on my adventure through the wonderful world of Paldea!” Nagisa threw her arms up as to celebrate and smiled widely at Nick. “Happy Birthday~”

“That's amazing! Woah!” Nick gasped, his stance becoming unsteady for a moment. Now after his head had become far cuter, his figure soon started to change to match. To his surprise, Nick started growing in stature, soon being over two heads taller than Nagisa. Yet at the same time the core of his body seemed to slim down, losing a bit of mass despite growing bigger as a whole. His build now somewhat resembled an amazon warrior, but there was still work to be done.

The shirt that had been quite strained on his much larger frame started to give way to something growing behind it. Though it didn’t rip apart as one might have expected, instead shifting around his body while turning into various better fitting layers of clothes, all of them in various greytones.

“A Pokegirl, huh? I definitely wasn’t expecting a thing like this from you Nagisa-ah?” Nick eyes suddenly went wide as his hands shot towards his privates. It wouldn't take a genius to guess what was happening based on his expression, though since he had gone through the process of losing his manliness so many times before, he was trying to keep calm until the change was finally over.

Though much to his surprise, the more his manhood rescinded under his… newly transformed gray skirt, the more a tail made of pure iron pushed itself out from just above his behind. It grew longer and longer, then hitting the ground with a thump, which was also the moment his manhood completely disappeared into Nick's body for good. It seemed like she had just traded one tail for another.

“Yes, and I can’t wait to go on an adventure with you~” The goddess chimed, then snapped her fingers, which caused a dark portal to open up in the middle of Nick's house right next to the two of them.

Nick knew that this was the way Nagisa moved from place to place, though he had to take a deep breath everytime he looked at a portal like that, since it looked so ominous. He noticed that the air he was breathing seemingly went straight into his chest, filling it up from the inside and making two lumps extend forward. Luckily for her shirt, that didn’t go on for too long and her chest stopped at a reasonable size, compared to her build at least.

Having felt up her decently sized chest for a bit and looked in the mirror, Nick, or rather, Nicole started to smile. This color scheme, large build, big horns and rock-metal-fullbody armor told her everything she needed to know about what she had just turned into. And she was excited for what lied ahead of them.

“Alright, my divine trainer. Only one question remains on my mind. Why turn me into aggron specifically!” Nicole asked, perfectly contempt with her new form.

"I am so glad you asked!" Nagisa beamed back, looking immensely proud of herself. "I wanted you to be powerful, pseudo legendary even! So I turned you into the strongest rock type in pokemon!"

"Err… Umm…" Nicole didn't know how to respond at first, but then she just decided to smile and say: "I am glad to be of service then!", bowing to Nagisa for a moment before shooting her a massive smile as well. “Let’s work together on this journey to become that, which no one ever was~”

“I couldn’t agree more, miss birthday girl~” Nagisa replied, took Nicole's reinforced metal hand with her own and gave her a big grin, before both stepped forward, completely disappearing through the dark portal that the goddess had created.

“Aha! Easy!” Nicole shouted as the Tediursa went down, marking the end of the first gym leader battle. Granted Nagisa’s trainer skills weren't the best, but that didn’t mean that Nicole didn’t roughly know what to do to win, even if she had to disobey Nagisa a few times for that.

“Yes~ I am so happy we made it~” Nagisa chimed, also seemingly very happy about the result. If the two of them kept going like that, then they would surely win this game in a spectacular ‘Aggron only’ run.

“Oh. Mistress. I didn’t expect you to be back so soon.” A familiar voice rang out in front of them the moment they left the gym. And it came from a lone Gardevoir of all things, standing in the middle of the path seemingly a bit confused. Then she looked a bit scornful at Nagisa and added. “...who is that?”

“I am Nicole the Aggron. And I am here to… wait.” Nicole paused for a second to look closer at the gardevoir before it hit her. “Azalea?!? Is that you?!?”

“Yap. Regrettably.”

“That makes so much sense now. No wonder I couldn’t find you for weeks. Were you also here on Nagisa’s pokemon journey?” Nicole asked, her eyes shining with innocence.

“You could say that… More or less out of free will…”She replied, which made Nicole instantly giggle at the reply.

“So you got kidnapped.”

“Yep.”

“Good to know.”

“...”

“Hey guys! The next challenge is waiting for us! Are you coming?” Nagisa shouted, riding on the back of Karaidon and waving wildly at the two pokegirls, who both sighed and smiled afterwards.

“I am so not looking forward to how many tries the second gym will take her…” Azalea sighed once again.

“Why? Did she try the gym before I came along?”

“She got the game four months ago.”

“Oh.”

“Yes.”

“Well, we will manage somehow.”

And with that, the two pokegirls followed Nagisa down the path, who then acted like a little child and wanted to explore everything. And got them into trouble multiple times for that. Yet somehow, there was one thing abundantly clear from hanging out with those two girls in the pokemon world on her birthday:

Nicole was having an absolute blast.

The only thing that she was unsure of till the end was how to break the news to Nagisa that Aggron wasn't exactly a pseudo legendary pokemon. Though that can easily wait for another day…

Nagisa is embarking on her very first Irl pokemon journey! Aren’t you guys excited? And she even has some friends in toe, so that nothing can stop her team from becoming the very best. Except maybe her own inability to succeed in games…

To be honest she might need the help of an expert or two to succeed here…
