It turned out I didn't have a whole lot to say about the guy Lawry is inspired by, so I also decided to talk about Stebe and what I was thinking when I was trying to make those comics.

Stebe sounds like he's based on One Punch Man.

Thanks for telling us the rest of the story. I haven't met any other artist who told their audience the rest of their abandonned stories so far. One more question though: Why is this comic's humor so drastically different from literally all your other works? It felt like someone tried to imitate you, but instead of making jokes they'd just switch topics every few panels. I.e. someone who learned that your characters commonly do that, but didn't have the experience to finish anything or tie it together again at some point.

What do you mean? The whole peanut murder felt like Stebe to me. The comic whose existence I still refuse to acknowledge was exactly that. In fact, NDnD convinced me that those leaps and hops were by design. It's not that Greg needs pre-existing rails to make epic comedy, it's that he actively tries to go off-rails, down the cliff, following the improv' model of his youth.
