This episode is based on some conversations my wife has had with me about the gasoline tax and funding for roads. Apparently, this big problem is that it's a state thing, but all the rural voters don't believe their local roads will see any benefit from the tax. The promise is that they would, but since low-income areas suffer an endless cycle of neglect, it was a hard sell and the gasoline tax hasn't been increased in ages in spite of the proportional drop in gasoline spending.

Naturally, I didn't even touch on that in the video. Instead I basically wrote down a conversation my wife and I had about Michael Jackson.

It's tough discussing financial matters when you could be talking about Michael Jackson.
