I often find myself a split mind while working on Stebe. On the one hand, I'm happy about improvements I make, but on the other I feel compelled to apologize profusely for just how bad the art still is. This is the comic that made me realize I've been spending a lot more time trying to get better at drawing hands than I have on faces, which is kind of a dumb priority but I think about hands so much because every artist describes them as a weak point.

They are important. People communicate with their hands, and I think that's very useful in a static medium where gestures might say a great deal about what someone is feeling. But nobody talks about just how easy it is to draw a bad face. I mean sure, the general shape is easier to simplify, but minor details like the space or size of someone's eyes can be the difference between looking cute and looking completely derpy.
