Early Access: Marvel's Spider-Man PC - Multi-GPU Nvidia vs AMD Face-Off - PS5/PS4 Pro vs GeForce + Much More! (Patreon)

Hi everyone, Rich here, with early access on the grand Marvel's Spider-Man PC performance analysis. I wanted to do something a little different here - not just to cherry pick a single scene or two for comparison, but to actually play the game through a fair bit to get better insights into how hardware actually runs - the antithesis of the 'bar chart breakdowns' that effectively are GPU performance analysis elsewhere.
Each GPU tested here goes through two of the most demanding sections of the game I've found so far, making for around 35 minutes of capture, then edited down to synchronise the action to around 20 minutes total of comparable action. But yes, there are a couple of sections used for basic comparisons too.
I also took the opportunity to expand lines of enquiry as they arose. If the GTX 1060 could do dynamic 1080p60, could it also do the dynamic 4K30 seen on PS4 Pro using Insomniac's excellent upscaler? And while direct benchmark comparisons between PS5 and PC are not possible, could the RTX 3060 leverage its strengths in RT and machine learning to deliver an experience broadly in line with PS5 in Performance RT mode?
Nixxes also talked about their efforts in getting the game running on older hardware, so I put that to the test by bringing out of retirement the GTX 750 Ti and the R9 270X (aka an overclocked Radeon HD 7870) - two GPUs comparable to PS4 graphics performance in several respects. How well could they run the game?
Some lessons learned here - simply that the time taken to do this means that the content arrives later than expected, so ironically the more time put into the video, likely the less return we'll get when published. Still, I hope you enjoy this one and as I say in the video, later on the week I will endevour to get all of that raw data out there!
I'll be posting later in the day with the content update, which I think I can reasonably produce even though it's a UK public holiday today, meaning no content meeting! Still, six words for now: The Last Of Us Part One.
