Hey everyone, a little later than usual but it's been a funny kind of week - not least because the reset button has been pressed several times on our Marvel's Spider-Man coverage owing to new patches! Still, here's our call for questions for DF Direct Weekly #74 - and also an appeal for topics, because news is thin on the ground!

What John, Rich and Alex will be discussing is indeed Marvel's Spider-Man on PC and the review process there, our chat with Nixxes and the feedback we gave to help make a great port even better. A lot of that stuff is indeed in the day one experience and we're super happy about that, even if it does mean that many of PS5 vs PC comparison vids that came out yesterday are already out of date.

Still... topics, questions, have at it! We'll be recording first thing Friday morning!

Have John or Alex tried playing the new Spider-Man release on a CRT? It seems like it could have a similar vibe to playing CONTROL on a CRT in terms of it looking/feeling quite nice on that type of display.

What if the new AAA FPS John Romero is working on with another studio is his glorious return to iD software, and the game is called DKTNA?

Alex, I was taken aback by how many pre-patched Spider-Man PC reviews I watched that did NOT address the #StutterStruggle issues, with some people using your new least favorite phrase, "It runs fine for me." Do you think people are so used to it that they don’t perceive it, or do you think if there were more games that eliminated stutter, people would start to notice it more when it does happen?

Will modern unified memory (as seen in consoles and Apple silicon) come to the PC, and what would the upsides and downsides be?

John, as a fellow retro gamer I want your opinion on why you care so much about the preservation of games.

Ars Technica's Sam Machkovech posted an article on the site about Sony being slow to add more classic titles to the top tier Plus offering. Any thoughts on why that might be and how much runway subscribers will give Sony before bailing out or downgrading their tiers?

If you have 10 billion dollars to develop a new class of PC gaming hardware that slots into the motherboard (like GPUs which Nvidia popularised), what will be your sales pitch for it? Dedicated shader cards?

What PC hardware marketing trend/fad would you want to stop?

guys in your opinion, which PlayStation exclusive game you'd day was the most difficult to port to pc so far?? Because seems like god of war was a pretty straightforward project by few people and Spider-Man pc seems like it was a very complicated port

Downgrade?! I got paid up through 2025 for only $150.. ty black friday & doing it when whispers began and not waiting. Seriously though, considering MS will still let you stack up gold them upgrade to gp ult without removing time you would have thought thags the one thing Sony would have honored since it seems like all they did was take a bunch of the games given away on ps+ over the years and make them claimable again. Also what's with the trials? They don't have anything new and if Sony won't put their own games on there for trial then why would a 3rd party?
