Hi everyone, Rich here with some early data from Steam Deck running Windows. I can't say that I can recommend the Microsoft OS on Steam Deck - it's a UX nightmare without a keyboard and mouse, while controller compatibility within non-Steam-based titles is also 'not great'. Also: no sound.

However, it is a chance to access titles and features currently not available in Linux. Yes, ray tracing works and yes, you can run the Unreal Engine 5 demo, Valley of the Ancient. And yes, you can get a perfectly reasonable experience running one of the most challenging PC titles of all: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.

I tailored settings based on and tweaked from Xbox Series S's PC equivalents (obviously with a big reduction in resolution) and found the results interesting enough to want to share in advance with supporters. If it's not clear from the ad-libbed voice-over, Xbox Series S's terrain level of detail and objects level of details are a *dynamic* 25-50. There's no dynamic option on PC, so I've opted for 35 as a mid-point of sorts.
