I love love love how Succession gave no clear “tipping point” before Shiv froze up during the vote. No flashbacks, no montage, no snide remark from Kendall, she didn’t spot a name on a label of a bottle of water that reminded her of something her dad said to her once… Just a box full of puzzle pieces for we the audience to assemble. A brave move that completely pays off upon revisit.

Barry lost me this season. The filmmaking was top notch, but the storytelling felt so random and unfocussed. Come the final episode, I had next to no emotional connection to any of the characters and was actually pretty bored. For me, Succession had the more successful final season and episode by far.
