Idk if this is helpful, but around the 27 minute mark someone asked how to stop over-rendering their pieces. When working on digital pieces I find it helpful to print often, as you go along. If the piece is taking longer than a day, then print at the end of the day too and use the physical version to sort of gauge what you need to do next. If working for long stretches of time in one sitting, then print every 30m~2 hours (depending on how fast you work), and check your progress by comparing the printouts. For traditional I kinda do it the other way around and take photos on my phone, since the piece already exists in a physical space...

Loish

that's an interesting tip! definitely helps get some distance between you and the drawing so that you can look at it more objectively.

So nice to hear you say how much you care about your Patreon. I mean one can obviously tell based on how much time you spend interacting here and the great content you create. I wanted to thank you because you're such a kind and humane person and I can feel that just by listening you speak, it's great for me to be here and learn so much from you. I hope this last for long!

Loish

Hi loish, I’m ordering in the next QA could you do a run down on favourite brushes for different types of line texture and where to out source them if not in photoshop? Thanks

Julianne Kennelly

Thanks loish. I just getting a wacom total beginner. Wondering about quick brush change in size when working. I read somewhere that you program with your pen that you don't need to press alt when pressing + -. Hope this make sense. Thank you. Julianne

Loish

i personally change brush size by right clicking with the brush tool activated. that brings up a little menu that allows me to quickly change the size!
