I recorded the process of drawing last month's sketch with my phone, so I figured I’d share it here! I wanted to balance screen recordings with videos like this so you can also see how I move my hands and really interact with the tablet. I have my keyboard hooked onto the top left part of my tablet which is how I access the shortcuts! This video is sped up to 150%, so it’s a little bit faster than my real-time process.

One helpful tip I discovered for drawing the lights: I painted white blobs with the “outer glow” mode set to a yellowish color. This really helped create a spooky and moody glow for the bright lights!

There’s a super sped up one coming up in a minute for those of you who find this pace a bit too tedious! Hope you enjoy and let me know if you have any questions!

Ah this is cool! Environments are still an area that I struggle with, so I always appreciate seeing your process for them. Great way to approach the lights too! Thank you for sharing :)

Thank you! Seeing how your hand moves with the screen and the pen really helps. I enjoy watching both screen and phone recordings.

I am glad that you take video instead of screen recordings. It really adds a personal dimension to see the hands and stylus moving.

Love to see the process! Hand movements especially. Which one of the Wacom's is this Lois? Cintiq pro 24", touch? Or?

thanks mark! I'm glad you feel that way, I try to make recordings like these every once in a while to give a more authentic glimpse into my process!

thanks kat! I also struggled with them for the longest time, I'm only just starting to find my 'flow' with them although I still find the rendering part quite challenging!
