I’m fascinated by barn owls. There’s one living near our house and it recently flew out right in front of me as I was biking home! Being allowed to see it up close felt so special. I feel like barn owls have these almost human-like faces sometimes. My boyfriend said they look like headless birds when you see them from a distance and that’s kind of true too! I had to do some studies of these magical creatures. Have you ever seen an owl in real life?

Yeee ♥️ I so love how synthetic and yet detailed your studies always look! Also the autumnal color palette is so heartwarming 🍁. Makes me feel like drinking hot milk chocolate!

Yes! I saw one a few months ago on my way home. They're one of my favorite birds and have always fascinated me. They seem to me to be very elegant, mysterious and magical birds. In addition, its silhouette and variety of colors are beautiful. And in my province (Galicia) and culture they are animals that appear in many myths, legends and folk tales, they are also related to witches. That's another reason why I'm so captivated by these animals🪶🍁. Love your work as always!!😭💚

And how far they can stoically turn their heads around without moving any other part of their body! They really are the perfect librarians. Thank you for sharing, I always love to see the different stages of your studies.

Aw you captured them so well!! Barn owls are definitely my favorite owls. I’ve been in awe of them since I first saw one in the movie Labyrinth. Now when ever I see one I person I expect it to turn into David Bowie 😂. I’ve only ever seen one in person at zoos though.

I used to collect owl pellets from the pastures around my house when I was in high school. There were so many. I'd get all the bones out and assemble them on my scanner with a black paper behind them and scan them into posters of animal skeletons and print them for my younger cousins. This was before you could send any decent sized image in an email... actually, before most people had email.
