UPDATE // brushtober (Patreon)

I've gotten a lot of questions from you guys about whether I'll be doing Inktober, so I wanted to address that in a post! I won't be doing Inktober this time around because I want to try something new. Last year felt a bit like a repeat of the same techniques and approach as the year before, and I didn't feel like I would get the same learning experience out if it by doing the same thing again. 

The main thing I really loved from doing Inktober in the past was the challenge of learning a new medium that I had never tried before, and being amazed to discover that I was able to improve and learn if I pushed myself past my comfort zone. This year I want to branch out even further and try different kinds of paints. The pressure of drawing every day was kind of extreme for me, so this year I’m going to try a different medium and theme each week, with some wiggle room to decide which days I’ll paint. I decided to call this challenge #Brushtober - you can see which medium & theme I'll be working on in the little schedule above!

I’m scared to go outside of my digital art comfort zone, but it’s always been worth it in the past and I’m excited to see what I will learn! I will of course be sharing as much of that journey as I can with you guys! Feel free to join if you like, I know it's very short notice - I only just came up with the idea this week.
