I posted the WIP of this at the beginning of last month, and a lot of you said that they would like to see this piece finished because it’s so different from stuff I’ve drawn before! I really enjoyed this one, tackling the texture of the snake’s skin was interesting and new for me. I’ll post a little step-by-step on how I did that soon. 

This one was inspired by the yellow indigo snake, although I didn’t stick to its exact appearance for this painting. I was just amazed by the beauty of the colors and texture of this snake. Hope you guys like it!

One of my favorite things about your art is how you make your characters so glowy, like they have an internal light source

My favourite element of this is how you are boldly showing your strokes. In places, it almost looks like an etching. It’s really beautiful!

thank you! when i was first learning how to draw, I was really into cross-hatching. I still really love the texture that the hatching approach gives so I still use it in my painting process.
