They really put Gaipa through the ringer these past two episodes. It’s so sad too because he basically spent all his time with her. So he can now be so grateful for all that time, but then moving on he doesn’t really have anyone. It’s so sad to see what happened to Jim after Beam died. It was already a rough situation within the relationship, then all this outside things happening after as well. It also brings up the point of how important legalizing same-sex marriage is. This was the biggest problem because even though they owned everything together, Beam’s parents were the ones who were allow to make all the decisions. I thought the whole idea of Jim being shocked/upset with Li Ming being gay was sooo interesting. We obviously see it a lot with straight family members, but it’s interesting to see it from another gay family member. But like you said, it really shows how Jim kinda blames himself for everything. He thinks that Li Ming is just copying his actions, and we’ve already seen that Jim has some internal homophobia already, so it was an interesting way to go with the story. And then on top of that, Jim has struggled so much so he’s worried about Li Ming too. I love seeing Heart and his parents. I agree about the conversation between Li Ming and Leng. I also think it’s interesting how it could be a little related to Li Ming thinking about his relationship with his mom. Like is he wondering if his mom was thinking this way or just had him because she had to? It’s funny that you mention the arm cast with Alan. It was there before, but it actually wasn’t a part of the actual script. The actor actually broke his arm in the middle of filming, but it ended up kinda working for the character anyway, lol.
