Chapter 327: Dead

In his ten years of employment, he had seen many intruders, but never had he encountered such a formal visitor.

Zebro was utterly stunned. He used all his strength to push open just one door, which was the minimum requirement for employment in the Zoldyck family. But that young man had pushed open six doors.

After a while, Zebro finally reacted and quickly picked up the internal phone, dialing the number that went straight to the butler's office.

After a moment, the call connected.

"What is it?"

On the other end of the line, a quite elderly female voice came through.

Zebro immediately reported everything that had just happened at the fastest speed.

After he finished speaking, there was silence on the other end, clearly surprised by the young man pushing open six doors.

"I understand."

After a moment, the elderly female voice said, and then the call was directly hung up.

Zebro listened to the dial tone coming from the phone, took a difficult breath, and slowly put the phone down.

At this moment, his mind was full of Luo's appearance.

Incredible, that was the word that kept circling in his mind. It could also be attributed to his limited experience. After all, Luo's age was quite young.

No matter what, Zebro felt that he would never forget the shock Luo had just brought him in his life.

The Zoldyck house was built on Kukuroo Mountain, surrounded by a vast sea of trees. All of this area was private land belonging to the Zoldyck family, and at the edge of this area, high walls were erected, leaving only the front entrance, the Gate of Hell.

Although the forest on Kukuroo Mountain was private land, its original ecosystem was not destroyed or altered.

Luo realized this not long after entering the forest.

From the main entrance, it wasn't far before one could see a path that seemed to be trampled by human feet, but upon closer inspection, there were still traces of human activity.

This path might lead directly to Kukuroo Mountain and was the route often used by the Zoldyck family.

Luo came alone to the Zoldyck family to address the issue of the death of the beast dragon.

He walked quickly, without any thought to admire the scenery on either side of the road.

Before coming, Luo wanted Netero to come with him. After all, having someone familiar would prevent any awkwardness. But Netero ruthlessly refused, citing busy affairs.

Indeed, the Devil Island matter had not been completely resolved. It was said that the trouble would be transferred to the state for handling, so Netero had been quite busy recently.

However, it was fine if he couldn't come along, but couldn't he at least make a call to Maha? But even that was refused.

Helpless, Luo came to visit without any prior notice, vaguely remembering that he just needed to push open the door to enter the Zoldyck family, so here he was.

Killing someone's beast dragon was a serious matter, and it was unknown how much compensation would be required to resolve it.

The Zoldyck family was very wealthy, and they would not take financial matters lightly. If this matter was settled by compensation alone, it would be simple. The most troublesome part would be if he had to replace the beast dragon with one of equal value.

Speaking of which, the watchdog Three Eyes, responsible for dealing with intruders, was also a beast trained by the Zoldyck family, indicating their impressive training skills.

However, after being inside for a while, he still hadn't seen Three Eyes. Was it because he entered through the main gate?

Luo thought.

In fact, Three Eyes would only become the Zoldyck family's watchdog several years later, so naturally, he wouldn't see it now.

Luo's pace was fast, and soon he had walked most of the way. Halfway through, he began to sense a prying gaze from the shadows.

He continued to walk without showing any reaction, following the path.

The prying gaze didn't conceal itself at all, and there was no human scent to it.

The source of the gaze was actually cameras installed in the courtyard. Luo didn't notice this, after all, as a guest, it wasn't proper to investigate even if he sensed the gaze.

The path was flanked by low bushes and trees, with a walking width of just over two meters.

Luo arrived at a place and suddenly stopped because a young man stood in front of the path.

There was an entrance there, with two-meter-high square stone pillars on both sides. Starting from the stone pillars, simple fences extended to both sides, with a wooden stick planted in the ground every meter, with only two horizontal iron wires on them.

The young man was tall and wore a black suit, had a crew cut, and wore glasses with a scholarly appearance.

"Gotoh?"

Even though this young man didn't have a beard, Luo still recognized him based on his similar facial features.

In the original story, Gotoh was the head butler of the Zoldyck family, but not yet. Currently, Tsubone held the position of head butler. The voice on the phone earlier was Tsubone's.

She was quite old, although still in good mental and physical condition, she had plans to retire recently and had considered recommending Gotoh to succeed her.

After receiving Zebro's call, Tsubone ordered Gotoh to go to the border entrance. After all, a guest who could push open six doors was no ordinary butler could handle.

Gotoh stood at the entrance, expressionless, exuding an aura of unapproachability. He stared at Luo from dozens of meters away without speaking, but his aura and expression clearly conveyed one message.

That was—get lost!

Seeing Gotoh remain silent and appear aloof, Luo thought for a moment and spoke directly, "I'm here to see Maha."

He stated his purpose directly and called Maha by name.

Gotoh's hairline was high, revealing a large forehead. Upon hearing Luo call Maha by name, a crossroad vein popped out on his forehead.

He stared at Luo and coldly said, "I haven't received any authorization."

Luo scratched his head, pretending not to see the vein on Gotoh's forehead, and said, "Then call him for me and tell him Luo is here." He paused and added, "And I've brought Buddha Jumps Over the Wall."

Hearing Luo's words, Gotoh remained expressionless, staring at him without saying a word, nor did he make any move to take out a phone.

Seeing Gotoh's silence and unfriendly gaze, Luo couldn't help but complain about Netero. If he had made a call, things wouldn't have been so troublesome.

"Can't you?" Luo continued to ask.

Gotoh remained silent.

Luo sighed, lifting the food container in his right hand, and said seriously, "Although I used Nen to keep it warm, it will eventually cool down, and once it does, the taste will be much worse. To prevent it from losing flavor, I have to apologize to you."

The "it" referred to Buddha Jumps Over the Wall. Luo was apologizing to Gotoh because he planned to force his way through.

After all, he had stated his purpose, but Gotoh hadn't even made a move to notify anyone, which wasn't proper guest treatment.

Luo's Ten turned into Ren, and his Nen flowed smoothly and powerfully.

Gotoh's expression became serious, and he showed a grave look.

Without using Nen, he couldn't judge the opponent's strength. Seeing Luo's Ren now, he immediately felt pressured.

Ren!

Gotoh also used Ren, enveloping himself in Nen.

If it were a decade later, it might be more troublesome, but for now, one hand should suffice.

Luo thought and then suddenly took a few steps forward. Just as Gotoh tensed up, Luo abruptly stopped.

Silently, a figure slowly appeared on the path behind Gotoh. It was Illumi.

Walking without making a sound was a basic skill for Zoldyck family members. Although he moved silently, Illumi didn't deliberately restrain his aura, so Luo and Gotoh immediately sensed Illumi's presence.

He stopped, caught in the tense atmosphere, and when he saw Luo, a strange look flashed deep in his eyes.

Recently, Luo had borrowed the beast dragon from his great-grandfather, yet he had come here on foot?

"Young Master Illumi."

Seeing Illumi, Gotoh immediately bowed and greeted him.

"Yo."

Seeing Illumi, Luo also greeted him, withdrawing his Nen.

"Your purpose?" Illumi calmly asked. He was preparing to go down the mountain, but unexpectedly encountered Luo here.

"I'm here to see Maha. It's like this, the beast dragon I borrowed some time ago..." Luo scratched his cheek with his index finger and said awkwardly, "It's dead."

"...," Illumi.
