Chapter 182: Fatal Flaw

Under unclear conditions of agreement, Uncle Li's ability to forcibly drag targets into 'Zetsu' is quite terrifying. As more parts are deprived, the volume of aura that can be emitted decreases, and eventually, the use of Nen becomes impossible.

This means that as long as an environment is created for Uncle Li to freely exert his powers, he can place a grand silencing spell on the target, sealing away their Nen abilities.

If this ability affects Luo, then given Luo's physical condition, he would completely become weak without the augmentation of his aura, while Antomu is physically strong and losing the use of one arm doesn’t impact him much.

However, it becomes problematic when the other arm is also sealed. Therefore, as Uncle Li was about to seal his left arm, he picked up a stone and threw it, intending to kill Uncle Li but failed, yet he successfully broke the seal.

While Antomu was considering whether to continue fighting, he saw a humanoid Nen beast attacking everyone with the sound of a playing harp, and one of the Nen beasts specifically targeted him.

Silently, he raised his left hand and watched as the Nen beast flew towards him, his fist erupting with a surge of aura.

Amidst the debris of rocks, Uncle Li and others rose amid the spreading dust, only to face the approaching Nen beast and engaged it in combat.

"Damn, if only I wasn’t injured!"

Uncle Li withdrew the notebook he had conjured, grinding his teeth.

If it weren’t for the injury on his arm, he would have already deprived Antomu of the right to use aura in both hands.

On the other hand, Biscuit faced Stajy’s Nen beast, merely engaging with the Nen beast without resorting to lethal measures.

She had two reasons for staying here: one was to get the gemstone pendant, and the other was to see Luo's capabilities, not showing too much strength unless necessary.

"Stajy's tears, I’ve claimed them."

She moved back quickly in small steps, easily dodging the lance of the Nen beast that was thrust towards her, smiling at the corner of her mouth.

Everyone was engaged with a Nen beast, including Luo.

With a Nen-shaped spear carrying a chilling aura, controlled by the Nen beast, it thrust a skilled lance attack towards Luo, intending to kill.

Using the augmentation of his aura, Luo sped up his limbs and stepped to the right, dodging the spear thrust and with a swing of his arm, the True Master slanted upward, slicing through the Nen beast's spear-wielding arm. After passing by, the Nen beast's entire arm was severed, turning into smoke and dispersing.

With one slash severing the arm, Luo's ankle pivoted on the ground, turning back and chopping down again towards the back of the Nen beast, aiming to split the Nen beast in two.

However, the lower half of the Nen beast, which had turned into smoke, could fly in the air, its mobility greatly enhanced. Just before Luo's slash could land, it suddenly rose, avoiding his blade.

The sound of the harp in the echoing hall changed at that moment.

The music of the seven strings, pressing down, the sound of death!

In the air, the humanoid Nen beast's severed arm quickly grew back, and from the smoky aura, a long bow was formed with an arrow already on the string!

The arrow shot from the bow, aiming for Luo's face.

Hearing the sudden change in melody, Luo looked up, a gleam flickering in his eyes.

Abruptly raising his arm, he swung his blade!

The rust-spotted blade precisely split the flying arrow in two, with its incredibly sharp properties, and then continued its momentum, slashing towards the airborne humanoid Nen beast.

The distance between them stretched over three meters, beyond the reach of True Master.

Under those circumstances, a sword aura burst forth from the blade of True Master, instantly splitting the humanoid Nen beast in half.

Yet, it was just a second before the two halves of the humanoid Nen beast fused back together, returning to its original form.

The aura, like smoke, seemed capable of automatically repairing itself no matter how severe the damage it sustained.

Luo realized this, and so did everyone else.

An immortal body, with neither slow speed nor strange attacks, was quite troublesome.

This was a Manipulator-type Nen beast. If it couldn’t be removed, they had to directly confront the mastermind, which was Stajy playing the harp in the palace.

But if the black Nen of the Nen beast entered the body, it was very likely to end up like the two corpses on the ground, making it not easy to bypass the Nen beast to find the mastermind under such a threat.

Even Antomu, after dispersing a Nen beast with a punch, had to face the Nen beast again as it instantly recovered.

Everyone was entangled with a Nen beast, and even with overwhelming power to kill the Nen beast, it seemed invincible like a cockroach, endlessly reviving.

The Nen beast that had reverted to its original form once again soared through the air towards Luo.

"An immortal Nen beast, huh..."

Luo muttered to himself, leaping back to dodge the Nen beast's suicidal close-range pounce.

During the brief exchange earlier, he didn’t find the Nen beast particularly formidable, just very troublesome.

"Should I try the abilities of the White Smoke font?"

While dodging the Nen beast’s lance attacks, as well as the occasional transformed bows and arrows, Luo considered whether to risk trying out the White Smoke font’s abilities.

The song played by Stajy varied in tempo—sometimes slow, sometimes fast, sometimes low, sometimes high, occasionally soft, occasionally sharp, sometimes broad...

The whimsical changes composed the exterior of the melody, also affecting the humanoid Nen beast's movements.

By carefully listening to the changes in the melody of the song, one could predict the Nen beast's next attack.

Luo wasn’t sure if others had noticed this, but during his continued engagement with the Nen beast, he became aware of it, and the Nen beast's speed was gradually increasing.

The person controlling the humanoid Nen beast was Stajy, and it seemed that Stajy was also being controlled by a Nen, both lacking the flexibility normally expected of humans.

If it weren’t for the Nen beast's regenerative ability and the eerie Nen, even if its speed increased, its intimidation power would still be mediocre.

However, for everyone, resolving the Nen beast was far from easy as they had to be constantly vigilant against being eroded by the black arrows and black webs.

Luo followed the changes in the melody of the song, his movements to dodge the Nen beast's attacks becoming more relaxed and precise, and he looked for opportunities to make contact with the Nen beast.

Because the Nen beast’s speed was increasing, he found it difficult to strike casually, but that wasn’t really a problem.

"It’s about time," Luo thought quietly.

At the same time, the Nen beast began to pressure Uncle Li and the others.

Among them, Mark was the most uncomfortable. At first, he could cope, but as the Nen beast’s speed increased, his dodging movements began to stiffen, clearly not aware of the intricacies of the harp strings.

Ruby, whose Nen was related to rhythm, also noticed this point, but when using Nen, he had to seal his hearing, so he couldn’t detect the secrets of the harp strings. However, when using "Rhythm of Life," he could easily handle the Nen beast’s attacks.

It seemed that both Biscuit and Luo had noticed this point, while Antomu, whose training focused on physical techniques, even if he hadn’t discovered the intricacies of the harp strings, could still easily resist the Nen beast’s attacks.

Biscuit simply dodged the Nen beast's attacks, observing the situation with Luo while dodging.

Seeing Luo easily dodge the Nen beast’s attacks, her eyes lit up slightly, silently giving Luo another point.

From the moment she made contact, she had already given Luo a score of 5 points, another 5 points would make him barely pass.

Luo didn’t know that Biscuit was scoring him, he moved like a dancer in sync with the melody, stepping correctly on the beats, then in the pause as the song moved to the next phase, he suddenly struck.

He swung his blade to sever the gun-wielding arm, then pressed his left hand on the Nen beast's skull.

The abilities of the White Smoke font activated!

The smoky form of the humanoid Nen beast exploded, wrapping around Luo's arm in an instant.

“Huh? That kid…!”

Watching this scene, Biscuit frowned slightly.

She didn’t see, as the black smoke enveloped him, Luo revealed a faint smile.

Posthumous Nen, although capable of exhibiting more power than when alive, also has a fatal flaw.
