Chapter 322

Under the man's cold and oppressive gaze, Shen Tan quickly retreated two steps and instinctively apologized, "Sorry for disturbing you."

Si Yu glanced at him indifferently, then closed the door.

Shen Tan stiffened again, and then he breathed a sigh of relief, not knowing why, but feeling as though a cold claw had tightly grasped his heart at just a simple glance, threatening his life at any moment.

This man was definitely not ordinary.

Turning to head to the staircase, Shen Tan paused again. Where did Du Zixuan meet such a person? And the man seemed to be wearing a suit he had just bought.

Something was not right!

Shen Tan, slowed by fatigue and shock, finally realized— the man was clearly taking advantage of his boss. Thinking of the young man's reddened face, desperate and seeking help, Shen Tan trembled and turned back towards the room he had just left, knocking vigorously on the door. But this time, no one opened it despite several minutes of knocking, which made his heart sink. Could something have gone wrong?

Finally having eaten, Ling Chunann contentedly licked the wound on the man's arm, which was almost healed thanks to the demon's superior healing power. As the knocking grew louder, he said, "Put on your clothes, I'll open the door."

His dark eyes traced the now more lustrous and plump lips as Si Yu leaned down to kiss the beautiful, blushing edges of the young man's eyes, his voice slightly hoarse, "Baby, I'll open the door."

The commotion upstairs had already alerted the entire Du household's servants. As they were about to ascend and inquire about the disturbance, the knocking suddenly stopped. They looked at each other, eventually deciding it was best not to meddle.

When the door suddenly opened, Shen Tan, using his fists to knock, suddenly lost his point of leverage and fiercely swung at the man standing at the door. His punch, fast as it was, missed as the man before him unexpectedly vanished.

Seeing the man who had dodged to the side and then noticing the neatly dressed young man sitting aside, Shen Tan let out a breath, "Sorry, sir, I urgently need to discuss something with Zixuan."

Despite his penchant for talking too much, Ling Chunann still trusted this agent. However, he really could be too verbose. Since he had brought him to the balcony, he hadn't stopped talking, and his imagination was truly first-rate.

"If you ask me, you need to be careful with that Du Zian. He has always been against you, and I always thought he was a wolf in sheep's clothing. Now, thinking about the disappearance of Madam Du and the young master, it's likely related to him. You're too naive; it's unsafe in the Du household. I think it's better if you move out; I can take care of you better," he continued.

"Your hand injury is no big deal, don't worry. I've postponed your concerts for the next year. Take your time to rehabilitate, and in a couple of days, I'll contact a better chief physician for you."

...

As usual, Ling Chunann did not respond to his words. Shen Tan had grown accustomed to this and emphasized again the importance of staying safe, recounting numerous safety precautions.

Although verbose, his concern was indeed genuine, which was why Ling Chunann did not interrupt him.

At that moment, Shen Tan lowered his voice, his eyes filled with undeniable worry, "Zixuan, can you tell Brother Tan about the man's identity?" After asking, he continued to watch Ling Chunann, waiting for his response.

Ling Chunann slowly looked up, seemingly puzzled by Shen Tan's question, who was not annoyed but repeated his earlier words.

"He is Si Yu, a good person."

Shen Tan: "..." What kind of introduction was that? And how could that guy look like a good person? He seemed more like a grim reaper. Zixuan was just too naive, surely deceived.

Just as Shen Tan was considering how to explain to Ling Chunann the difference between good and bad people, he heard another shocking statement.

"He said, 'I like him.'"

Shen Tan immediately jumped up, like a mother hen protecting her chick, "No way!" Then, fearing he had frightened Ling Chunann, he softened his tone, "Zixuan, listen to Brother Tan, that man looks complicated, and you are too naive. It could be dangerous to be with him..."

Just then, the balcony door opened, and the man walked out, glanced at Shen Tan, then softened his gaze on Ling Chunann, gently touched his head, "Baby, let's go."

Ling Chunann smiled at Si Yu, then said to Shen Tan, "Brother Tan, let's go."

Watching the intimate atmosphere between the two, Shen Tan felt like he had become a tyrant who breaks up couples.

Under Si Yu's direction, mechanically loading the luggage into the car, Shen Tan looked at Ling Chunann sitting with a glass of juice supervising him, feeling utterly desolate. Why had he thought Si Yu was bullying their young boss? This was clearly placing him at the pinnacle of his heart. He had always thought he had taken good care of the young boss, but he had never reached the level of understanding through a single glance.

Noticing the agent looking over, Ling Chunann bent his eyes into a pure and spotless smile, which shook Shen Tan's heart, followed by a destructive glare from behind, tightening his heart again. He hurriedly bowed his head and hugged the suitcase to minimize his presence.

The luggage included only a few clothes bought for Si Yu and a pile of music scores, along with a violin. It didn't take long to load everything into the car's trunk.

Since Ling Chunann couldn't drive and Si Yu didn't know how, Shen Tan naturally took the driver's seat. Just as he was about to get out to help his young boss, who had mobility issues, he stopped when Si Yu already had Ling Chunann out of the wheelchair and in the back seat.

Si Yu's actions were so practiced it seemed he had done it thousands of times, smooth and steady, not bumping or jostling at all. Shen Tan felt somewhat defeated; he couldn't be as thoughtful as this man, who seemed impossible to care for someone so well.

After securing the wheelchair, Si Yu sat beside Ling Chunann, closed the car door, and pulled Ling Chunann into his arms, "Drive."

Ling Chunann looked at Si Yu, who clearly regarded the agent as a potential rival, but did not resist. He yawned and leaned into the man's embrace.

As the car left the Du residence, Du Zi'an's vehicle entered the garage from another road.

Walking into the living room, William's originally content expression suddenly turned serious, "Master, the summoning circle in your home is gone."

"What?" Du Zi'an exclaimed in shock, then stopped as the servants' curious eyes fell on him, and hurried upstairs.

"I felt it just now; someone must have entered your mother's bedroom and disrupted the summoning circle," William explained. "A normal human couldn't affect a summoning circle; it must have been a powerful demon."

Unaware of the worry in William's eyes, a shadow crossed Du Zi'an's face as he quickly pulled out keys to open the bedroom door at the end of the hallway, asking, "Where's Du Zixuan?"

A few seconds later, William replied, "The target has moved beyond the monitoring range, probably has left the Du residence."

After leaving the Du residence, whether out of caution or another scheme, Ling Chunann had a relatively peaceful time. Shen Tan was busy with Ling Chunann's accident for a few days, but after confirming that Si Yu could indeed take full care of Ling Chunann, although still a bit worried, he was finally driven away by countless urgent calls.

After Shen Tan left, Ling Chunann began treating his own body. Although his powers were suppressed in this world, enough time had passed for him to mobilize some energy, especially since Si Yu's appearance nearly a month ago had revitalized a bit of his soul energy, gathering into a small stream within three days. While currently this energy wasn't enough to heal him completely, at least introspection was no problem.

Being able to introspect meant he didn't have to cut open his flesh to reposition his bones, although he was enduring, that didn't mean Ling Chunann wasn't afraid of pain; he was naturally happy to suffer less.

Demons are said to have healing abilities in legends, but their race's destructive nature is too strong; the so-called healing is merely robbing Peter to pay Paul, and soon enough the healed area would be damaged again, so Ling Chunann initially didn't want Si Yu to treat him, though helping out was acceptable.

Having determined a treatment plan, Ling Chunann started the process. His left arm had two fractures, his left wrist a small segment of comminuted fracture, the bone fragments having already grown into the flesh under the effect of the treatment liquid, his left hand's index and middle fingers also broken into several segments. Although he had realigned them earlier, some details weren't properly adjusted, and if he wanted to play the violin in the future, they would need to be dealt with again.

These days, Ling Chunann had Si Yu memorize the human anatomical chart. Seeing Ling Chunann's instructions, Si Yu placed his hand over Ling Chunann's arm, using energy to quickly separate the flesh and bone, while also removing the useless bone fragments as described by Ling Chunann.

After Si Yu treated one area, Ling Chunann took over to restore and bind the bone positions, and after all was processed, they treated together with the healing liquid.

Although Si Yu wanted to block Ling Chunann's

pain sensation, Ling Chunann refused, arguing that having all senses intact was more beneficial for the treatment; he didn't want to miss any injuries and have to treat them again.

Despite their seamless cooperation, the entire treatment process still lasted nearly three hours. After drinking the healing liquid and confirming once more that all bones were properly healed, Ling Chunann finally breathed a sigh of relief, his entire body drenched in sweat as if he had been pulled from water.

Si Yu bathed Ling Chunann, then carried him to bed and tucked him in, kissing his forehead before he fell asleep. After Ling Chunann was asleep, Si Yu's gentle face suddenly hardened, his gaze, which had always been somewhat bewildered in front of Ling Chunann since his amnesia, sharpened significantly. After adjusting the quilt corner for Ling Chunann, setting several protective formations in the room, he disappeared from the room.
