Chapter 148: Man and Sword

This scene was truly unbelievable.

Between Nen users and ordinary people, without external advantages like firearms, they are simply not on the same level.

But using aura alone to knock down so many people elevates the difference between them to ten levels or even to an unreachable extent.

Images of his father, grandfather, and even great-grandfather flashed through Illumi's mind.

In his view, the strength of his elders was unquestionable, but at this moment, he wondered if his ancestors could achieve what Luo had.

He shouldn't have been curious about an outsider, but then he met Luo.

"Luo has become... this strong?"

Uvogin muttered as he watched Luo stand atop a bullet wall.

Machi and Nobunaga remained silent, their shocked expressions revealing that they likely shared Uvogin's sentiment.

With this in mind, could they still recruit him into the troupe?

The terms were to win, after all...

For a moment, all three lost their confidence, but even without the confidence to win against Luo, they couldn't just give up.

Inside the arena, only forty-six people remained standing, including three elders from Meteor Street.

The spectacle unfolding before them was exaggerated enough to make ordinary people lose their will to fight.

But even as Luo displayed power beyond their comprehension, they would fight to the death, such was the style of Meteor Street.

If firearms were useless, they would fight using methods known to Nen users.

Luo, standing on the bullet wall, glanced around and clearly saw the remaining people—without a doubt, all were Nen users.

Using Sanbica Norton's virus and his own aura, he had significantly reduced the combat strength of Meteor Street, leaving plenty of Nen users, though not enough to pose a threat to Luo.

"There are still forty-six people, it would be best if they knew when to give up, if they keep persisting..."

Luo thought silently as he jumped down from the bullet wall.

Sanbica lightly leapt to the spot where Luo had just stood.

Luo slightly raised his head to offer his hand to help her down.

Sanbica ignored Luo's hand and jumped down herself; she was not one to easily make physical contact, something Luo was well aware of.

Seeing Sanbica's disregard, Luo shrugged it off, feeling her aversion was somewhat akin to autism; overcoming it wasn't something that could be done in a short time.

At that moment, Luo finally took a good look at the level of the Nen users on the field, and seeing Machi and the other two outside the battle circle, he was surprised, then understood why they had come.

He met Machi's gaze and shook his head slightly, signaling them to honestly leave and wait outside Meteor Street.

Seeing Luo's gesture, Machi and the others walked toward the battle circle.

This act clearly told Luo they intended to join the fray.

Luo, seeing their determination, was somewhat helpless as he couldn't persuade them otherwise.

"Hey, you can't keep me here, just give up."

Luo withdrew his gaze from Machi and the others, turning sideways to look at the elders and others behind him, who stood at the edge of a platform on a four-story building; behind them lay a dozen fallen people. Besides them, less than twenty of their subordinates could still stand.

The combatants still numbered forty-six; they accounted for half, with the rest scattered in other parts of the area.

"Give up?"

Marshal snapped back to reality, his face twitching as he gathered a basketball-sized Nen orb in his palm and hurled it.

The Nen orb left his hand like an arrow loosed from a bow, flying towards Luo.

"So... you still want to continue."

Luo's eyelids drooped slightly, concealing a fleeting regret.

He stepped forward and sliced the incoming Nen orb with his sword.

Hiss!

The Nen orb split in two, passing by his body and exploding into two shallow pits on the ground.

"No wonder he specifically went to get a sword, but a rusty blade like that could cut through a Nen orb." Seeing Luo's precise strike up close, Sanbica was secretly shocked.

Luo knew swordsmanship, she was only surprised for a moment, but the quality of the rusty sword being able to cut through a Nen orb was indeed strange.

After splitting the Nen orb, Luo didn't initiate an attack on the elders because Sanbica was still there, and behind him, about twenty Nen users were eyeing him fiercely.

Sanbica's weakness was close combat, only when Machi and the others came over could Luo feel comfortable letting Sanbica join them, after which he could freely deal with the elders upstairs.

"The orb was cut through...?" Marshal's expression stiffened; as an Emitter type Nen user, if his emitted Nen orb could be so easily broken, it would be like a venomous

snake having its fangs pulled, becoming powerless.

The rusted, scabbardless sword had been noticed by everyone very early on.

Because it was so rusty, it was easy to overlook, yet unexpectedly, it could cut through a Nen orb without shattering.

Saber and Kite felt a sinking feeling in their hearts; it seemed Luo was not only troublesome with Nen, his close combat ability was also not weak, being able to precisely split a Nen orb in two, as seen.

"Marshal, stay here and support us anytime."

Saber said, then jumped down from the rooftop, landing steadily on the ground; the others did the same, leaving Marshal alone on the rooftop platform.

Emitter type Nen users in coordinated combat typically support their teammates with long-range attacks, similar to a mage's role, generally speaking, their Nen is very conventional and lacks uniqueness.

Saber was an Enhancer, Kite was a Manipulator, and although that group of subordinates also knew Nen, they hadn't developed their own Nen and could only rely on their aura to boost their speed and strength.

Seeing the opponent's actions, Luo spoke calmly: "Sanbica, wait for Machi and the others to deal with the people behind you, then you can go and join them."

The remaining people were all Nen users; ordinary people who used guns were basically down, posing no threat to Machi and the others.

Hearing Luo's words, Sanbica nodded slightly.

At that moment, as Machi and the others approached the battle circle and directly took action, they instantly took down three Nen users.

"You guys!"

People from Meteor Street thought Machi and the others were their own, not expecting this turn of events.

Uvogin knocked down a Nen user with a punch, striking with enough precision not to endanger life.

Nobunaga's sword remained sheathed, cutting down an enemy at the back of the neck with the scabbard, a clean and decisive strike.

Seeing this, the people of Meteor Street became enraged and started attacking Machi and the others; however, after direct combat, they were completely baffled.

Uvogin and Nobunaga fought side by side, quickly overturning many opponents; they seemed very formidable, but it was also because Machi used her Nen threads to restrict the enemy's mobility.

Under the trio's coordination, they managed to suppress the majority with fewer numbers.

The disturbance at one end of the street made the elders' faces look even worse; they might not recognize every person from Meteor Street, but they at least recognized Machi and the others.

Kite and Saber glanced at Marshal on the rooftop, as if to say: These are your people from the Western District.

Noticing their gazes, Marshal's face twitched, and he expressed his displeasure through action, without hesitation, hurling three Nen orbs towards Machi and the others from afar.

At that moment, a figure leaped into the air—it was Luo.

He slashed three times in mid-air, splitting the three Nen orbs in half.

The Nen orbs, cut in two, shot out to the sides, landing on the ground and buildings.

Luo landed from the air, his wrist flipping slightly as he glanced at the rusty blade of his sword; as he swung his sword, he seemed to feel a jubilation from the Almighty, murmuring to himself: Are you... boiling?

After so many years of silence, even though the blade was rusty, even though it could break at any moment, it still yearned to return to battle.

"Sanbica, you can go over now."

Moments later, Luo suddenly pointed his sword at the elders and others in front of him.

After cutting through three Nen orbs, and then pointing his sword at the elders, his posture, if not for the unimpressive appearance of the rusty sword, could have been quite intimidating.

A man, a sword, drawing a line.
