114 - Sketch of the Month 5 - Mayday✨ (Patreon)

I lied.

I mean
I didn't.. but guess I did an artist's pick anyways... xd
Why should I say no to my creative instinct, right? B]

I also updated the original (the 5th) Sketch of the Month post including one drawing from these 2.
But First, lemme talk a bit about the concept of this:
As far as I know, this character, "Mayday Parker" or "Spider-Girl" is related to Mayhem(, who was the winner of this month's sketch event). Mayhem's host is a clone of Mayday Parker who's named April Parker (who happened to have a symbiote).
Because of such "close" relation between these two characters, I wanted to create something similar to the previous sketch. So both characters are enjoying their time in comfy pillows. Well, basically the theme is that. (...and it's not like these works kept reminding me of project #105 which is also features a bed and lotsa pillows... goddamnit I'll never finish that fallout4 work aaaa x'd)

I've also made a few similar things in the method of colouring. And speaking of "colouring", that part of the working phase was streamed through my discord server for Tier2 and Tier3 patrons to enjoy. Maybe that's why I worked a bit more on this and it became more colourful than the previous pic. For example: this has 3 layers of different bright layers, while Mayhem has only 1. 

Eventho I wanted to make this pic similar to the previous, I also wanted it to look different. It has more pillows and not in the same purple-ish colour. Now the harder part was What to add that's not a lil "heart symbol" here... xd She looks like she's stretching, so I tried to find a symbol related to feeling happy. At first I tried to add a star, but then I realised that's usually being used while the character's having some pain (..no?). Then I tried to add yellow sparkles, but it was still not looking right. I tried to add a musical note ♪, like she's humming, but that didn't work either. Then after more tries, I tried to add not-yellow, but blue coloured sparkles and seems like that's working for the pic.
I don't know what others read from this addition on the picture, I see it like she's happy and daydreaming perhaps? Having positive and hyped thoughts maybe. So I find it that she's surrounded by and feels positive vibes. (I also thought I'd add a -w- face like she's saying it, but.. that's not good here either xd)

I'm really happy how this came out, I think the colours make it really lively and joyful. I'd change a few things as for the lights on her, but this is a sketch and it looks pretty fine like this.
