104 - Sketch of the Month - Top #3 (1) - Wisp (Patreon)

Celebrating my first Sketch of the Month occasion, as said before, I decided to sketch all contestants. Funny enough, all 5 nominations got up to the Top 3 winning podium thanks to the votes.

Wisp got 2 votes, setting her up to be ranked 3, next to Warmonger.

This was the first sketch I've finished complitely out of the 5, the first finished drawing in 2023, and got carried away with it a bit, as it shows. xd
I really enjoyed making this, Wisp  was one of the "love at first sight" characters for me and this was the first time I've drawn her.

My main idea was to give her a Flower Scarf-like decorative element on her, like a flower crown, but having her touch it around her neck, showing how she loves it. Luckily, the game has a ephemera similar to my idea, so I looked at that for copy material;

I liked this drawing even in non-coloured form, then decided to colour it properly anyways, using one of my loadouts' look. The tiny green heart is her energy colour btw.
Had some troubles with the background, I didn't want it to be complitely white, but then chosing the right colour wasn't easy either. Some made the floating petals around "invisible", some weren't fitting overall, and I tried to keep the theme sketchy or simple (so tried not to overdo with the variety of colours). I also tried to use a different colour for the background, so it's not like my previous drawings, just another individual.

I used sfm's help for looking at the details, aswell as a default look pic from wikipedia. I've added some personal touches, changes to her design aswell; made her shoulder peek out from under her default scarf/cloth around her neck and made that plate under her shoulder a bit spikey-er/longer.
It was interesting to study and learn her design, while drawing.

The long list of submitted pictures here include blushy and non-blushy versions, with and without some details and the last 3 have altrenative flower colours (blue and more-reddish).
Also a version where I wrote the nickname of the person who nominated her as my appreciation for the contribution. :>

Overall I think this became a lovely piece in my art collection. c:
