This is MITY's artist, Marty,  speaking! 


Hey everyone, no real news yet.

But there is some small movement going on behind the scenes which I want to mention.

For any new people out there, FET's writer(Cbob) has been taking an extended break because he was/is feeling less than sunny-side-up. It's the reason why FET has been on hiatus. In the meantime I(artist) am creating a game called 18Titans to at least have something going on while we wait.  Everyone caught up again? Cool!


As I said in my update at the beginning of this month, I don't expect a new FET build for this month and I've seen nothing from Cbob yet to make me change my mind, nor do I think I will.

Having said that,  during these last couple of months I did ask him  a few times whether he could send me whatever he had done so far... and he finally agreed to do so. He warned me to keep my expectations very low and when he gives warnings like that you better take them seriously!


I'll probably receive a bare bones build in the next few days which will still need a scary amount of work before any of you will ever get to see it. Still... it's a change from what has been going on so far and I welcome that change. This could be the first step to us getting back on that horse called FET.  Just a small one though and nothing to get too excited about. Especially since I haven't actually seen anything yet, but I told you guys I'd keep you in the loop and that's what this update is about. 


If stuff is going to happen because of this... don't expect it to be anytime soon.




On to other tidbits! 

I'm still aiming to have a new 18Titans build ready this month. I haven't been able to put in half the amount of time I'd like to, but I much prefer getting something new out this month than nothing at all. Much respect to anyone who's doing this sort of stuff all by themselves all the time.


Oh and finally, we've been getting messages from people who started making their own game because FET inspired them to take that jump and that's awesome to hear.  Creating and putting your own creation out there can be a scary thing!

I'm thinking of doing a post showcasing some of them next month. I normally don't because we'd be inundated with those requests, but I want to make an exception. IF and only IF you contacted us in the past talking about your own game and would like a shout-out in one of my future art updates, send me a pm with some pics, a short description and links to your site etc. Would be convenient if you can put it all in a zip-file. Let's say I give you till the 20th of February? 


Okay, I still have a shitload of stuff to do before a new 18Titans build is even possible and silly little time to do it in so I'll leave you all to it again.

Well I'm not going to say I'm not disappointed at the news. But no game is worth someone's health, mental or otherwise. So I will just continue to wait and appreciate all the hard work you guys have already put into FET. I mean there's 3.5 paths done already, not like I'm starved for content.

Too Bad about FET, but you, at least, put a lot of efforts to make up to your Patrons by giving us regular updates and another game to make us wait. I respect that. I supported another game creator called ICSTOR who is infamous because he almost put no updates on his work and taking Money from his patrons vu delaying an update on his game every months. The update was to be out like a year ago. Nothing like you.

Get a new writer if cbob isn't will to put in the work. You have patrons donating to pay for the work. Its tantamount to theft if someone gives you money to do a project and not work on it.

Glad to see you're staying busy and excited to see what comes of this 18titans project. As a long-time patron (since Book 2 days) I did want to suggest, hopefully much more gently than other commentators, that it may be time to look for another coder/writer either in addition or in replacement (temporary or otherwise) to Cbob. Certainly, no game is worth sacrificing someone's mental health... but it also may not be doing Cbob any favors to have the pressure of mounting his return looming over him. Thus, I really think it might be a bit of a win-win to start the process of moving on, once again either on a temporary basis or permanent basis. Of course, this is all just a suggestion - but I think it would be better to be proactive than passive here, especially when the timescale of nonresponsiveness is months not weeks (and threatening, in my view, to stretch into year(s)...)

I can't say that I disagree with this sentiment, but I will also stress that I don't know jack about creating these games, or how stressful it can be. All I will say is for MITY to keep doing what they feel is best for them, and I will keep being supportive as best I can. This game has consistently been one of the best I've played, and I'm willing to wait for Cbob to get his health in order if it means getting a complete and polished game in the end. Cheers!

18titans is amazing I love the feel of the game, with some other creators I have seen a progress bar of code and other information. They update it every other week. I think it might be a good idea for the side projects and the main game, It might be nice so you guys do not have to make the update post when the news might not be the best.

Good news or bad news, its still good to hear some feedback. I'd rather Cbob takes some time to relax than have something disastrous happen and theres no more FET. Sometimes its easy to forget that groups like MITY are made up of real people. We all have things going on in our lives that affect our day to day. Sometimes you just need some time to get shit sorted out. I know I personally might not be able to handle everything if I were in their shoes. Depression or any type of illness is bad on its own, but I'm sure the added pressure of 5,700 waiting patrons only makes things worse. But, although I can't speak for everyone, I know many of us are fine with waiting. Health comes first, and I think the majority of us are ok with waiting to see a better team MITY and a better end product.

5700 patrons. That is a lot of revenue that has been put on hold. Even if it is 1 dollar a month, I know it isn't but for the sake of argument lets.just say it is, and splitting it in half, that is still enough money a month to live on for 1 person and have some left over. Now because there are more them just 1 buck a month doners, thats all profit that is not being made. Honestly financially speaking, cbob is costing you money that you could be using to re invest in the game.

I love FET and Cbob is part of the soul of the game that made it so great. I would rather get updates in other things like 18titans (wich is also great, keep it up) than having a change that would make a different FET. I wish Cbob could come back soon but mental health is allways first.

I'm seeing a lot of people talking about replacing Cbob, and if that's what's you two decide to do, I'll stay around for sure... But, I'm also here for the long haul, I've been following this game for what feels like forever now(though tbh I think it was just during the book 3 slave route that I started being a patron), and I'd rather see the game finished than see it "finished" because people couldn't be patient. Mental health is important, and sometimes it really will just take time, and I'll be here whenever the project gets rolling again. In the meantime, keep up the good work on 18titans Marty, and tell Cbob to take care of himself.

Sometimes it is best just to step away and let some one else take over. The game still wil get finished then, fans won't have to wait anymore and donations can once again resume.

Maybe it would be, but that isn't your decision to make. It's important that they do what's best for THEM, which may not necessarily be what YOU think is best. Stop trying to stir people up and let MITY make THEIR decision. I have already made mine about this, and by the sound of it you have too.

Don't listen to all the haters. Cbob, this game is built upon your coding and writing. We are spoiled by your writing, its honestly the best. I hope you get your stuff in order and are feeling good soon. Marty, you're doing great. 18Titans is a testament to how far you've come since the beginning, keep it up.

Nobody is censoring you, stop acting like a child. Besides, this whole project is cbob's idea. He created FET. There is no replacing him. If he needs to take a break, then the project is paused.

I dont understand why people are even considering the idea of replacement. Have any of you even seen what cbob has written? Talent like this is rare, and the game would not and could not be this great without it. Im eagerly awating their return and im going to keep up my support until the game is finished. Maybe cbob sending his work over to marty was the nudge they needed to get back into it.

I'm really enjoying 18Titans And if I'm being honest, the writing and gameplay feel very on par with FET and I wouldn't be able to tell that it was written by a different person. If you really needed to you could definitely do some of it without cbob

Thanks DarthC. I'm actually just as much a fan as I am a creator of FET. I know that probably sounds really weird, but I always enjoyed seeing what Cbob did with the art. Sure I had a very good idea of what would happen. And sometimes I wrote half of it! But Cbob always managed to give it that little extra which made me laugh at unexpected moments!

Motion comics are pretty fun, but incredibly lopsided when it comes to effort/effect. I think I'd actually prefer creating a game over drawing a motion comic. But I never say never.

I make it a conscious effort to not compare ourselves to others when it comes to putting out work. I'm always afraid I'll slowly become a slacker over time if seeing other people can get away with murder. When we have so many patrons who actually chose to support us... that's the absolute last thing I'd want.

It's interesting hearing that cause the writing is night and day to me. That said, I, and quite possibly many other people here, aren't really here for the writing in these games, it's more just been a big plus through the process. Now this isn't meant to disparage Marty's writing, nor the importance of one of the roles CBob plays, but instead I hope it helps CBob recognize that no matter what he puts out in this medium, it's smut, not a nominee for a Pulitzer. If he phoned in the writing on this, maybe 5% of people would notice, and no one would really give a damn.

I get why people are frustrated and that’s understandable. I know there are some people myself included who really enjoy the gameplay and dialogue almost as much as the sex scenes. While at the same time there’s plenty of people who don’t really care and are here just for the sex scenes with some of their favorite characters. It’s fine either way. It’s been a long time between updates and while many people still stand by the statement that we can wait as long as it takes, it’s also understandable and not unwarranted for people to be frustrated at this point. Haha people legit havin a war in this comment section. This is my opinion and feel free to shit on it as much as you want it’s cool. I get what a lot of people are saying. Some people keep suggesting they hire a new coder/writer to replace cbob or even just as a third member to help out even if it’s temporary. The third member suggestion is pretty reasonable and I feel like most people who are frustrated lean more towards that then just flat out replacing Cbob. I’m not speaking for anyone or putting words in anyone’s mouth, this I just what I’ve observed. Some of the people who are ok with the hiatus might immediately remind those people how serious mental health is and how MITY has worked hard and is warranted a break as long as they strive to keep high quality content. Which is also understandable because I can see how looking at a bunch of negative sounding comments where some are suggesting replacing you can be pretty discouraging and not help cbob during his break thus possibly making the situation worse by extending the hiatus and giving cbob more stress to deal with which I don’t think anyone wants. Some seem to be suggesting this just as a kick to get cbob back to work which may end up making him feel better in the long run which in all honesty could work. Sometimes the best thing to do when in depressive states is to just keep yourself busy rather than stewing on it. So from the comments I’ve seen I do get where people are coming from. Or maybe I don’t who knows, I’m just another dumbass on the internet. But here’s my two cents on the matter. I try to remember that FET was created by cbob which Marty has mentioned many times both in posts and comments . Cbob came up with and created FET and then contacted and hired Marty to help out as the artist and whatever else he could to help out on other stuff when it was needed. So by that it doesn’t make sense to me how cbob could be replaced considering in the end he is the creator. The third member idea seems much more plausible but in the end it does seem to be cbob’s call for the final decision on that matter. So while I do think a third member could be very helpful it is his call. I also notice how some people have pointed out that MITY for lack of a better term is taking advantage of or somehow cheating their patrons. Idk I read it a while ago so maybe they said something different(again not trying to put words in people’s mouth)but MITY has turned off the pay cycle which was really cool of them. Now we’re not really losing anything from this hiatus. Some people still want to support them which is cool but I mean it’s their choice on whether to take your money even if you’re just trying to help them out. But yeah I’ve been a patron to other games that just go for several months through pay cycles without so much as an update on what’s going on. MITY has really surprised me by always putting up updates even if it’s just to say we’re still here which I do appreciate. So no one is losing money and they (Marty and cbob both) have given several updates so really cool on your part again guys. Finally in my dumb unnecessary rant I guess you could say that I personally do appreciate the quality that goes into MITY from Marty and cbob both. Again I’m not speaking for anyone this is just how I feel about it. FET was the first game I’ve played like this and ever since I’ve tried to find other games like it. While I’ve found a couple of really good games I would have never otherwise found, I’ve still yet to find one like FET. It’s been a couple years since I’ve started playing and FET is still at the top. I’ve said it before in the comments but I just have a total blast playing the game. The fact that it’s hot as hell is the just the best icing on an otherwise fantastic cake.(not an intentional innuendo but I do now see the irony of that phrase considering what game I’m talking about haha) but this is just a really fun game that hits perfectly on every point for me. The mini games are pretty clever and varied but never feel too grindy for me. I’ve personally rarely if ever encountered bugs. The dialogue in serious moments is fantastic and the comedy(long live Shady) is absolute gold. I have legit laughs in every build. The story for each book and the overarching story as a whole is very creative and interesting while still staying in the canon timeline. The characters are in situations about as far as you could get from the actual characters in the show yet their dialogue somehow still sounds exactly like them. Last but definitely not least, this game is HOT AS FUCK haha. So yeah I get why everyone’s frustrated but that’s the reason I’m not because this game is quality and cbob is just as much a part of that as Marty. I honestly feel like they’ve just spoiled us totally rotten because the other games I play now get like 2-4 updates a year while MITY has worked hard to pump them out in like under 2 months up until now. So they have worked hard and with such a good game I do believe a break is warranted if cbob really needs it. Mental health really is serious so it’s good he’s trying to take care of himself and I really do hope he’s doing better. Marty’s done a great job in the meantime by giving us 18titans which is great. I loved the show and the game seems like it could really be great in upcoming updates. So yeah we’ve got something to hold us over and it’s not costing us anything while we wait so I personally can’t complain. I really don’t want cbob to rush out the last builds since we’re close to the finish line or lose the progress he’s made on his health. But it could turn out to be good for him in the long run to just hop back in it and get back in a groove. It’s great to have standards and FET is a quality game in my opinion, but it really doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect every time. I mean being a perfectionist can be good and bad but who knows maybe that’s not the issue. Idk I’m not a professional but thx MITY I feel like u guys are handling this in a really good way and I can’t wait for 18titans and the next FET build. Thx Marty for keeping us updated and for the great games in between and thx cbob for creating one my favorite games. I’m wishing you the best man. Hope you’re doing better. So that’s my opinion on it and a long ass one I know. If you disagree cool everyone’s entitled to their own. Feel free to shit on mine as much as you please haha. But I do feel like many people are being very reasonable concerning their stance on what may be best moving forward. Props to anyone who read this long ass whatever this is.

Honestly... keeping a progress bar up to date would turn me slowly insane! I do these art updates about every two weeks and I think that's something I can work with fairly well. Btw. it's great to hear you've been enjoying 18Titans so far. I just released the bughunt for the next build so unless weird shit happens, early access should be ready before the end of hte month.

I like working with Cbob and have the opportunity to talk about how to do stuff behind the scenes. Maybe I could do it by myself(maaaybe), but I'd really rather not. I do think it's important to keep in mind we aren't exactly trying to create a "work of art", if only because that mindset can be crippling and suck all the fun out of the process and end result.

I'd like to start donating again at some point. One would hope mity and cbob would like making it. I know when I have been in serious mental decline it was mostly because I literally had no money and didn't know how the bills were going to be paid. Now that I have a steady income and am able to have a bit of extra money i.am.in a a lot better place mentally.
