There's only 3 types of guitarists in life....those on the stairway to heaven, the highway to hell and the ESCALATOR TO HADES muhahaha

So I had some fun with Led Zeppelin's classic track Stairway To Heaven using music theory. Manipulating a song is a great way to make arranging and composition a fun game. 

REHARMONIZATION

Using the tab below, you can see I kept the original melody but changed the chords. This is a technique known as reharmonization. I love doing this because it gives me a chance to have fun with experimental sounds while still being recognizable. I changed the C/G chord in measure 2 to an Fm. This works because the melody note, or highest pitch is a C...the 5th of an Fm chord (F-Ab-C). I threw in a number of spicy chords to sound like HELL. One being an FmM7, spelled F-Ab-C-E.
