Reading music is one of the most practical and useful skills for musicians. It facilitates the rapid transmission of ideas, from technique to music theory. 

I've included 3 pdf files below to help you start your music reading journey. First, familiarize yourself with the notes on the staff. We begin with the notes on the lines, which are 

E-G-B-D-F 

I use the acronym Every Genius Bleeds Devil Fire to remember them. For the spaces on the staff, the notes are 

F-A-C-E, spelling the word face. 

Try your hand at the reading exercises below which include iconic themes such as Star Wars, Jurassic Park and of course, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in the Locrian mode. I've included a version without tab and with tab so you can see if you played each exercise correctly.

Any acronyms to learn the whole fretboard?
