Two quick items of business, then the preview I'll be posting on my blog later today:

1) This is definitely happening. I've been doing lots of finishing/testing, since that's where my inspiration has been lately, so I'm sure the game will be ready for you guys as soon as the month is over. I'm at the "overwhelmed by self-doubt" stage of the creative process, though. -_- Several elements of the game have to work in several different ways simultaneously, and I worry I didn't pull it off.


2) There's another Patreon contest on ULMF. Vote your conscience, obviously, but I wouldn't mind if some of you guys sent a vote my way. No log-in required, this time, unless it happens when you submit your vote:

The Preview:


I'm happy to announce the side game I created while I was on my break! Patrons got a full report of some of the other work I did, and you'll be getting a schedule of releases in a few days, but for now I wanted to spotlight one of the things I've finished as proof that I haven't just been goofing off. =P


Ouroboros


A kingdom is under attack. A princess is in peril. Our brave hero just needs to rescue her and save the day... right? OF COURSE! THERE IS NOTHING GOING ON HERE, GO SAVE THE PRINCESS!

Ouroboros is an action-adventure with RPG elements. As you can see in the above screenshot, you have the ability to jump. You may also note that this one was made in MV; while I will keep my current projects in VX Ace, I did want to play around with the new version. Though it doesn't have a rich set of resources yet, it does have some fun possibilities:

I've included a variety of features in an effort to make the game feel different from the usual RPG. As much as I love the genre, I get a lot of it between The Last Sovereign and Noxian Nights. This side project was an effort to make a different flavor, and hopefully you guys will find it refreshing as well.

The combat system is grind-free: there aren't any levels at all, your strength comes primarily from your equipment and tactical choices. Though you can't see it in that screenshot, you have the ability to change your equipment at any time in combat. You can see MV's new side battle mode, which is fun.

Of course, the game has plenty of adult content as well. ^-^ Throughout the game you'll find six different sex scenes, and I may expand that number later.


I'll give a full schedule later, but this game will be released the usual way: patrons will get to play it first, then I'll release it publicly. But while I'm doing that, I'll be diving back into TLS - while I was glad to take a break, I really found myself missing it. See you soon with more updates!

Voted though for all fairness with IT will be kept secret but it is one I am patreon for / of now (No Idea how I should say it so I let the original stand ;) ). Though I though I had already told you how much I like Simon and the crazy girls that follow him :D As for Ouroboros it sould very interesting though I am abit scared of the combat system my reflexes are not what they used to be. But hey atleast it is not bullet hell or sidescroll and platform So it should be duable for me :) I like all tree genre but i can not get past a single level anymore during to injuries in my hands :) Also if there is bugs in the new release We will do our best to find then and do not feel bad there are a lot of things that can go wrong that you may not have power over :)

Wow, MV sure has a different aesthetic, doesn't it. Not sure how I feel about it yet, especially the giant heads. It may be a while before MV has a lot of resources to go with it. However, I hear it's very customizable - I think I read that it is possible to use most/all resources created in VX Ace for games made in MV, so that may be an avenue worth investigating for future projects. As for that poll/list, wow, it is sloppy as heck on several entries. Relevant to you: You're in the poll twice as "Sierra Lee" and "The Last Sovereign", which means disadvantageously split votes for you. Hreinn's list entry says "this is also the guy providing art to Last Sovereign" and I'm not sure what TLS's list entry is talking about with "the catgirl succub".

I'm not a real fan of the MV aesthetic. It's appropriate for this game, and not by accident, but if I use it in the future it will probably be at a point when I want to do a mostly custom game. Using VX Ace resources is an option, though I'm not entirely enthusiastic about it from my experiments so far. That thread... yeah, I know. -_- I tried to correct the HG thing once (ineffectually) and I'm not going to say anything else because I'd rather not draw the OP's attention. He's lashed out at creators for minor things before (like the poor Crisis Point creator, who is stuck with "guy face" descriptions forever). I think "Christopher Nolan porn" is about as good as I can expect to get from him.

Don't worry, combat is still turn-based. Maybe I'll make a true action RPG one day, but this one only has action elements on the map screen.

Gave you a vote, hope it helps in the long run. I agree that the organiser was not only sloppy but blatantly biased as well, so I don't blame you for not being too invested in it.

Thanks! I was going to mention it next post, but I see some of you are monitoring the thread. Hopefully, so are a bunch of other people. =P
