It's finally time! This release lets you play the game beginning to end: there are some placeholder maps, and I hope to improve various elements, but this version will offer a complete experience.

NOTE: If you are playing on a previous version, please switch your saves to 0.4.2+ before playing too far. Not only will it be a better experience, it's highly important for overall game balance.

(Links removed, please see the new thread for updates.)

OEA 0.4.3

 - Fixed fatal Cumgeon mapping error.

 - Red Arena (hopefully) fixed. Bug fixer event added to Red Arena, for those who ran into the unlocking issue on previous builds.

 - Simple new event added during first visit to Wilhelm's tale. The benefits are trivial, but hopefully make for a smoother experience.

 - New villager sprites from Runcible Technician.

 - Bugged enemy skill fixed thanks to Decanter.

 - Tweaks, bugfixes, and smoothing.

OEA 0.4.2

- Key plugin fix provided by Decanter.

OEA 0.4.1

- Fatal map coordinate error.

- Couple of minor issues.

0.4.0 Changes

- Final plot update

- All sex scenes added

- All chibi scenes added

- Placeholder music replaced with 53 new non-RTP tracks

- Replaced all 30 RTP default sound effects with unique ones

- All custom battlebacks

- All custom NPC faces, edited NPC sprites

- Brand new fancy title screen

- New windows and menu format

- Non-RTP equipment icons

- Custom balloon/emotion icons

- 95% of battle animations replaced with non-RTP animations

- Attacks in combat now include sprite movement

- Placeholder battlers all removed, many unique battlers commissioned

- Misc tweaks: different treasure acquisition, new battle results plugin, new fonts, etc

Probably most people will assume it's RTP anyway, but I tried. T-T

Reasons you might not want to play

I hope this version will be pretty solid, but let me give more information about its current state for those who are short on time:

1) Maps are only final for the first several hours, then revert to placeholders.

2) There's the risk of recently introduced bugs. For example, just yesterday I fixed something that would have stopped players from advancing. In fixing a late game bug, I accidentally made an earlier advancement scene inaccessible. I hope there's none of this, and have replayed for a while, but some bugs are inevitable with this much content.

3) There are a few lingering issues. Late in the game, I experienced negative HP regen, and I haven't been able to figure out why. It's most likely a specific item or equippable skill, so pay attention if this starts happening to you. Likewise, there's a mysterious rare bug where the enemy selector freezes until restart.

If there are game-stopping bugs, I'll put out new builds as quickly as possible. If not, there will be a 0.4.1 polish update... though I'm not sure when, given the length of the game compared to a normal update.

Stuff if you do play

Please pay attention to the following:

1) Record your amount of gameplay time up to the last remade map, the first ending, and the true ending.

2) How often and how long does the loading screen come up for you? Give computer specs if it's very often.

3) If you notice either of the bugs mentioned above, please report anything you were doing just before they happened.

4) Do you think the game should have a quest log? I don't like them, but this one isn't purely linear and I could try to add it all in one run later.

As mentioned, I think this will be 20+ hours of content, so people won't get through it quickly unless you have a lot of time to binge. Give feedback however is most convenient for you, but it'd be nice if a few people sent it in chunks. Of course, let me know immediately if there are progress-inhibited bugs!

I believe that's everything I intended to say. I hope everyone has a good weekend, perhaps including OEA!
