LOK:R’s Tech Brief (Patreon)

Hello everyone! I wanted to introduce myself to the community! My name is Gizmo, I’ll be taking over all the programming for the game. I’ve worked as a game programmer for 6 years now and have worked in the AAA industry and am currently pursuing the indie dream. I’ve spent a lot of this time building up systems that will make it easier to build the game in the future and provide a player first experience. This includes setting up automated builds so you can automatically get regularly scheduled updates and setting up the game to use a database I’ve built that will allow us to tweak variables in real-time! This will allow us to balance the game much quicker and you the end-user can benefit from this almost instantly. Another big tool I’ve been working on is Triton. Triton is a dialogue editor I made for Vlad specifically for this game. At first we spent a week trying to integrate Articy but that was just too bloated with features we’d never ever need and would have required us to have so many work arounds to change it to work with LoK. So far Vlad’s expressed his content for the tool and because it is an internal tool he is able to request changes and depending on the severity I can get those added in within a couple days, compared to waiting weeks just to get a response had we used an established tool. We’re super excited to show you guys what we’re working on!
