Kaylee: "No power in the Verse can stop me" Everyone: "Aww that's cute, she got the apple" River: "No power in the Verse can stop me" Kaylee: "Holy shit you just shot 3 people dead with your eyes closed" I totally agree that every episode in this series could be justified as a favourite. Can't wait to see the rest of your reactions!

Nathanael Fuller (Polygon Wizard)

This is my second favorite episode of the show just behind Shindig and just ahead of Out of Gas. I feel like the grandfather from Princess Bride when describing War Stories. It's got fighting, torture, revenge, monsters, funny one-liners, badass one-liners, chases, escapes, true love...everything you could want in a single episode. The torture scene with Mal and Wash is so good because it manages to be terrifying, amusing, and dramatic at at once. Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk play off of each other so well in this entire episode, but especially so in that scene. Every other character gets at least one great moment as well. We get the return of Niska who just creepily eats up the scenery every chance he gets. We get more glimpses into Book and River that just make them more mysterious. Jayne is in his bunk. Wash gets to cock a tiny little gun. Simon gets to not shoot people. Mal is happy to accept help defeating the bad guy. No power in the verse can stop Kaylee or River. Mal and Zoe have so much not-chemistry. It's all great! Like most of this show, War Stories only gets better each time you watch it. So glad that you are loving Firefly! It is always infinitely more fun when a reactor genuinely enjoys the things everybody wants them to watch.

Great character moments all around from the cast. Loved this line. “Terse, I can be terse. Once in flight school I was laconic.” Wash Wash talking to Zoe “All the planets in space flushed into my butt!” Mal’s “tomato” line “Mother–humping son of a bitch.” Book on seeing Mal’s ear “Filthy fornicators of livestock!” Book wasn’t always a preacher. You’ll see in the book. The comics sent to you are awesome! I have the full set. It’s so fun watching your enjoyment of this show! Thanks!

Ok, the next episode, Trash. After Our Mrs. Reynolds, it is my 2nd favorite. And if you already seen it, then you'll know why. winkwink

This is one of those episodes that's difficult for me to watch. Maybe I just got too attached to the crew and the torture. I dunno.

Zoe cutting off Niska, choosing Wash, then asking him if he wanted to continue. Boss. Ass. Bitch. A crossover episode with Zoe and Rebecca would have been amazing. Two powerful women who know how to control a room.

I hope the reboot of the show from Disney finally happens. And I hope it takes place as if time has continued with the original cast after all these years. But at the same time, I'm afraid today's culture wouldn't be able to handle the Firefly universe with all their little sensitivities and cancel culture mentality.
