After Book shoots the first soldier, and says “understood” Zoe’s response is “ok, then”. But there’s a little “I’m going to pause for a tenth of a second whilst I integrate this new knowledge” as she says it which I dig.

"I'll be in my bunk" Now that is a line I use almost daily, and it is a line I've almost used in a lot of my comments to your videos. For example. When Amos Burton gets "naked" in the snow, in The Expanse. "I'll be in my bunk" I don't know, I just think it's hilarious.

Maybe it's just me but I never really got any kind of sexual tension/romantic vibes between Mal and Zoë? We know they've been through some serious shit together and they obviously have a lot of respect and trust for each other but romance? I'd call their relationship very "professional" if anything. Wash going bunkers with the jealousy felt a bit out of left field. Sure that feeling doesn't always come from the most rationale of places but not my favorite plot point so far. The whole therapy session in the middle of getting tortured was definitely interesting lol Those comic books covers are 🔥🔥🔥 And look at that perfect Tetris stack... so soothing.

The point is that there is no sexual tension between Man and Zoe, but that Wash misinterprets their close bond as such. By the end of this episode, Wash understands more fully what their bond is all about.

It's just a Wash insecurity that finally showed itself. We know Mal and Zoe are nothing because we've seen the chemistry between Mal and Inara and Zoe and Wash. They may have a deep bond, but it will always be platonic. Wash can't fathom that because he's hot for his wife, how could Mal not be?

I like your reasoning here that Wash is so enamored of Zoë (as he should, she's awesome) that he can't see another man not feeling the same way about her even though the signs are not there. Pile on unresolved insecurities and you get a bad situation, fair enough.

Such a great episode. I love how they were able to fit so much about these characters and their growth over the course of just one season.

I kinda figured it was partly the closeness that two vets had, but also Wash feeling left out on all the capers. Several times Wash has expressed how alone or neglected he feels as the get away driver. This was Wash asserting himself and saying that he wants in on some of the action he keeps hearing about instead of just staying on the ship. You can only play with the same dinosaurs for so long.

After the movie you amy want to have people, post all their fan theories and things they notice. There is so much I’ve wanted to say but can’t because of spoilers, or things that have come out after the series ended. It may have been canceled far too soon but it is still a great example of amazing writing, stellar acting, and it stands the test of time.
