I’m hapoy for everybody who enjoys this show, but allow me to express my frustration: I watched the pilot about a year ago but didn’t proceed, but many emmy awards later and with reactions coming up I decided to give it another shot. So I finished the first season yeaterday and I won‘t watch any further. This is one of the few shows I can say I actually strongly dislike. The portrayal of football has NOTHING to do with the actual sport and the thought that this supposedly takes place in a professional league is ridiculous, and I‘m not talking about the premise of hiring an american football coach to train an actual football team. Most characters are super flat and have exactly one character trait, maybe even just a punch line that defines them for the whole season and nothing changes for any of them. Grumpy people having a heart of gold and mean people having a moment every now and then isn‘t original, it‘s basic. Simple cartoon characters often have more depth. There is zero ambition to this show and for the life of me I don‘t understand how it has won so many awards. The show gets slightly better when it comes to the women, and the football player girfriend stereotype is the only person who has an interesting arch, if you want to call it that. The club owner is interesting, too once you get past the trope of the boss wanting to destroy her club, and the actress is very good. Even as a feel good show there are many that have more actual heart than this one and as an inspirational sports show it doesn‘t work because it oversimplifies and misrepresents the sport.

That’s completely OK! They’ll be other stuff that you can watch of mine. I just like this because it’s different than everything else that I watch on my channel. But I could see how some people wouldn’t be able to get into it.

Well that was delightful! The pilot did a pretty good job of setting everything up, and it had quite a few fun jokes to boot. My favorite one was the throwaway reference to the "London Bridge is Falling Down" nursery rhyme because it took me an extra second to process before having an "aha!" laughing moment. Like I did with Severance, I'm gonna keep watching these for the first time along with your videos because it's fun to see how our reactions line up and how they don't in "real time". Plus it's nice to hear someone else laugh at the jokes as they happen.

YES! I’m so happy you’re watching this now! I’m loving the third (and final?) season right now…it’s coming off of one of the best motivational speeches I’ve ever heard in its most recent episode, and this is a perfect time to fall back. I’ll save most of my thoughts…but just remember…this is where everyone starts. Rebecca. Roy. Keeley. Jaime. Nathan. Beard. And of course, Ted. (And you haven’t even met the others!!!) The journey is wild, and you’re never going to believe how every single one of them change. But hey, if you want to watch the show within the show, watch the quiet subplot between Roy and Isaac Mcadoo. (You didn’t get his name in this episode.). Roy gave him a shove in practice in this episode. They barely have any dialogue between the two of them, but it’s such a brilliant piece of writing/storytelling/character building.

I’m so glad you’re enjoying this. There are lots of laughs and lots of heart. This show has been a form of therapy for me. My ex even told me she likes it and we hardly ever liked the same thing. She said “It’s wonderful. Ted reminds me of you.” I asked “How so?” And she said “You have always been so positive and encouraging to me and others.” I was like I try, but Coach Beard & Roy are my favorites. And Rebecca has a great set of arms. They’re amazing. 💪🏼 Excited for you to get to know all the characters. Scrubs was one of my favorites! JD’s humor and daydreams are exactly how my mind works, always thinking of the most absurd things to any given moment. Sometimes I share them, some times they’re just for me.

I'm saying this at the start of your reaction series. Fuck. Yes. This is the best, most positive show on the web right now, and not in a cheesy, positive way. Just wholesome, positive, makes you want to be a better person show. You will hate or at least dislike some of these characters at the start. It's not a spoiler to say that everyone as a whole ends up being positive, life affirming... Except for one. I'll let you find that.

TED LASSO! LilGal! This is going to be peanut butter and chocolate. I love these first takes- such a fascinating start. (yeah, of all the people I can imagine loving Roy, Angela is absolutely number 1 on that list). In fact Angela, I guarantee there is no character here you won't change your mind about and come to adore! Heck, your three depths of ' good' that Ted brings out in others are already spot on. And Angela, YOU WILL FEEL WONDERFUL! I found FunnyLilGal a few weeks ago... first TLOU, then saw starting to react to Firefly, now TED.... if a reactor is to be considered by the content they decide to share... well, LilGal!!!) Angela, I've been watching TV since the black and white days of the early sixties.... IMHO, Ted Lasso is the best-written comedic series... ever.
